As it turns out, I don't have to wait to report another MusicFab crash. Less than fifteen minutes from when I walked away from the screen, the familiar "ding, ding, ding" of files completing in MusicFab stopped. MusicFab had crashed again. I restarted again, and more than thirty minutes later, it's still running.

#Ord1117, this software WAS released way to early. As you mentioned; fixes to some of the larger issues is progressing a little slow. What I'm trying to do here, is report issues from the field to the development team. (at least I hope the issues I'm reporting are making it there.) Unfortunately, I believe that I have let the thirty day refund window slip past me while I was trying to do this. So far, I'm trying to convince myself, that the benefit that I am receiving from the software outweighs the heartburn I get from struggling with it. I still don't know whether I picked the loosing side of that argument.

I have hope though. Most software forums only have a Moderator, monitoring what's posted for content, and have very little (if any) input from the forum to the development team. Staff sometimes and (I am told) infrequently sample the "hot threads". If you have ever been on the Microsoft Forum, you will notice that very little, if anything ever gets done concerning glaring issues with the Windows UI reported on the forum. In fact, widely used programs, productivity tools, utilities and features are frequently stripped from the platform. Non utilitarian changes are made to the UI that actually hinders work flow and causes more "clicks" (or effort) to do the same thing. Programs, features and even functions are moved, renamed, or hidden under multiple menus with no warning or logic and it's up to the "Users" to do their research to find out where things went. There is a huge outcry in the forums over this and the apathy that radiated back from Microsoft concerning both the outcry and extreme distress this causes is profound. (Woops, sorry, getting off track here. I get carried away.)
Here though, The people from MusicFab that respond inside these threads identify themselves as "Staff" not Moderators. This helps me feel confident that my input is making a difference, even though Forums are not usually a recognized reporting path for software issues. For such a minor thread as this one (where one person does most of the posting) to rate a "Staff" reply, gives me a warm and fuzzy. Even though I DO post "Tickets", I'm certain that if the Staff in this forum thought that it would be better for me to post another ticket on an issue mentioned here, they would say so. I am putting my faith in the "Fab" staff and development teams, to work out the issues that I report, and transform this software into a cohesive usable whole.

    - When I tried to save the edit in my previous post, the system told me I wasn't authorized to edit the post. I copied the edit into this new post

Edit: Now that I gotten past the "Protected content" screen and was able to load content into MusicFab, here is where we stand. The invasive popup window, although it continued to "Pop Up" and would not stay minimized, amazingly I'm able to type this in my browser without being trounced upon by the Window. Why that is, or what I did, I don't know.

All tracks in Multiple Disc collections/albums are still being thrown into single directory.

Once I get past a certain point in a Discography list, I'm still being thrown back up to the top of the list if I try to load an album or track deep in the list. This might be a Spotify thing, and MusicFab might not be able to do anything to stop that. It might be just me, but it seems that navigating to the albums past the end of the initial end of the list seems to have gotten just a little easier. This statement may seem a little wonkey to you right now, but if you travel down the discography list of a prolific artist, more albums will populate as you travel past the bottom of the vertical slider bar. You will see what I mean if you play with a long discography list.

I must have gotten into a hurry and clicked past the release notes. I did not review them, and can't find a way to get them. I would like to read them to see what was done. It seems that all of my "Major" issues still exist. The list has been getting smaller, but I don't see where any of my particular issues have been addressed. I do keep in mind, that I am not the only one clamoring for the development teams time. Perhaps there are other issues that just haven't popped up for me, or I have missed concentrating on other things.

Note: While I have been typing this update, MusicFab has crashed and disappeared from the screen again. The TSR portion (or program running in the background) is gone also. There is nothing in my task window. No error code window(s) was/were left on my screen. I'll restart and post again tomorrow if It crashes again this evening.

I'm looking forward to the next update.

I first updated to 1.0.0.8, and tried to access my Spotify account around 8am local. Unable to get past the protected content screen, I have rebooted my computer, and restarted MusicFab many times over the course of the day. At 7:25pm local, I was finally able to get into my account so I could do something with Spotify. Up until now, it's stayed pretty well useless all day. While MusicFab was closed, I was able to access Spotify on the same computer. I'm looking forward to the next update.

Why does the popup for Music Fab keep appearing over Streamfab? I can't get rid of it and it obscures some Stream fab info. Get rid of it

Well... 1,0,0,8 is out. The first thing I noticed is that the "Protected Content" screen is still there. After clearing the cache and rebooting, it was still there. I used uninstaller software, and completely uninstalled MusicFab and re-installed it. The "Protected Content" screen was still there. Since I can't seem to get past that at the moment, I can't evaluate anything else. MusicFab is shut down for me at the moment. "I'll be back" once I manage to get in, and actually use it.

Have to throw my 2 cents in here. I've been using Musicfab for almost a week already and hopefully I don't jinx myself but I have never run into the protected content screen or any kind of error. I've gotten 26 albums/playlists and just single songs and everything seems fine and plays well. I am also using a VPN when using Musicfab (not sure if this is why I am not getting a protected content screen) because I am not sure if the ISP can see that I am downloading from Spotify or if Spotify sees IP addresses. I know that sometimes when songs are greyed out, there are 2 reasons. The music company didn't give Spotify permission to use the song or the song is only available in certain countries which would mean they know where I am located (maybe not exactly), in which a VPN and changing your location in the settings on the web site comes into play. Also, if you have a credit card or paypal connected to the account, I would remove them, just in case Spotify does something, then they won't have your personal information.

I'm not sure if it's possible for you to post the song(s) that are giving you the protected content screen?

#Sylvia, Thank you for the simple update. You have no idea how much a single line from the Staff/Mod's means to me.

Err.... while you're talking to the development team, can you ask (if it's not to much trouble), that if I minimize the Window that pops up after a completion, that it would stay minimized?
Thank you again for your update.

BTW: I'm back in this morning, and actually using MusicFab

Back up on streamFab. I don't know what happened. One day everything was failing, and a day later it wasn't. MusicFab is also running. Sometimes I hit the "Protected Content" screen, Sometimes I don't. for the moment, this is a "Don't".

Yup, StreamFab Seems to be broken again. With all that's been going on with MusicFab, I haven't been back to StreamFab for a while. With all of the Video references that I've seen in MusicFab, plus a few other things I see, I believe that MusicFab was created over the bones of StreamFab.

Question: When a file is being completed in MusicFab, I often see the word Remuxing. Can anybody tell me what that is? There is no Video portion to be reconciled with the Audio file. The .lrc files are not being merged into the Metadata. I'm just wondering what is being Remuxed, or what Remuxing is doing?
Thank you for any clarification you can provide me.

When you open Spotify with another browser, do you also get "Playback of protected content"?
#ord1117, These aren't meant to be derogatory or inflammatory posts. I'm kind of hoping they help. I will keep testing though.

#Sylvia, Thank you for the information. I was looking in MusicFab for that setting per release notes. No, I don't get a protected playback error when I go in normally (Not through MusicFab.) on any browser. I primarily use Google Chrome on my Windows 10, 11, and android devices. So far, the only place I see that error is in the Fab browser. I don't understand why. The Fab browser looks like it was modeled after Chromium. I do use Opera to access my tickets through the MusicFab Member portal. I can't seem to get in with Google Chrome.

I just logged in with Opera to test that browser and had no problem. I immediately logged out and tried the Fab browser and got the "Protected content" error.

I did find out something new though. I use my G-Mail account as my E-mail "Registration" address with Spotify. I couldn't log to Spotify in going through the G-Mail interface in the Fab browser even though my account is set up through a G-mail address. I usually just go down to the E-mail box and put my Google address in there. I thought it was a problem in MusicFab. It's not. I just had the same issue trying to get in through the Opera browser. That's one small issue off the "Fab" plate. It looks like a Spotify problem.
