If I had the original movie I guess I could compare but the thread is about 50 to 25 gb which would be the most you could compress! My 13.9 gb move as I said I cant say what the compression ratio was but I have a high end LED LCD 240hz and the picture was great at the 13.9Gb!

The x264 encoder uses quantizers (quality scales). Most often quantizers between 10-51 get used. Isn't it possible that the highest quality (q=10) gets used during the complete encode and that the data needed to reach this quality is less than the BD25 size?

I know that "The Social Network" is extremely compressible, because it's free of grain and very dark.

A solution might be to change the quantizer range from 10-51 to 1-51. This will only help to fill the disk completely, but it will not increase the visible quality.

The compression was 87% of the original, movie only with Dts audio. 25.3 Gb down to the target of 22.3 Gb. After a couple of hours compressing, the final size was 13 Gb. Hopefully this is a one off with this movie, and not something we can expect as a common occurrence in the future. This is first i've encountered this problem.

I don't think it would be a common occurrence as I have been using Fab since the 5x days. But also this movie is a Cinavia protected movie so that might play into effect! This is more of a question why and not a problem? As the movie plays great at 13.9GB. Even the 87% factor could be off if the compression numbers are off. I know when I did this movie I did not notice a longer compression time or anything different then the other movies I have done!

I didn't mean it is a common occurrence, i mean i hope it doesn't become a common occurrence. As of right now it is a rarity. This is the first time for me and hopefully the last. This could be some sort of bug put in the bluray structure to affect the compressing of the movie. I'm sure the boys are working hard to figure this one out.
