I have successfully burned Resident Evil: Afterlife, Green Hornet, and The Tourist. Try to compleatly remove and delete all current files and re load the new version of dvdfab. I will borrow The Other Guys from a friend at work and try to burn it. Make sure you have the burning engine set to VSO.

Ok...I'm going to have to track down the actual disc now to try it...i was using a virtual drive with an image that still had the protection on it (an option on Other Software) and it would copy fine before but always fail with the error. Since people are having success now the virtual drive is probably my problem! I'll post back my results!

PS When it freezes up there unfortunately isn't a corresponding log with an error if the problem...it's almost like the gui stops responding and acts like it didn't start a new job according to the log file

Just tried "The Other Guys" with the disc and it still freezes during the copy process...

To be more detailed (since the log doesn't show anything), it shows:
          Analyzing started
          Analyzing complete successfully
          Copy process started

...and then, it freezes while it is copying "00166.m2ts"

          It is only at %0.11

I'm stumped at what to do now, it never used to do this prior to v8.0.9.9!

Just burned The Other Guys with my ASUS burner and it worked perfectly. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. Are you sure that you have enough space on your hard drive to burn it? It will have a temp file size of about 21.7 GB if you are only burning the main movie. I de-selected some of the audio tracts and all the subpictures to get it to fit on a 25GB disk. I'm using version 8.1.0.0. Did you try completely deleting DVDFab and it's files and re installing the latest version?

I'm trying to do a full disc backup not main movie, and I actually tried main movie and it worked fine as well. For whatever reason the 00166.m2ts file on the full disc causes the program to stop copying. I'm curious to see if you get the same results with the full disc option rockyhahn...looking through the forums there have been a few similar issues with people having freeze issues on certain m2ts files for other movies too.

On some files with multiple mts files even though it looks like it stopped it might not have! And it could get stuck on the file for a while some movies are the exception! While we expect the software to work perfect every time it does not! I would let it do its thing and it might take hours, I have backed up hundreds if discs and a problem like this once in a while is acceptable.

I've let it sit over night and it still has hung on the 00166.m2ts and I have completely uninstalled deleted all of the files and reinstalled.

Unfortunately now as well, my main movie protected disc of the other guys skips ahead to different scenes and then the video gets choppy at about 35 minutes in...the ps3 doesn't say that cinavia is detected like before but the disc is definitely having some erradic behavior

Anyone else check the disc and find this???

You are not using the original disk?

I have to say that after watching the backups that I have made all the way through, I think I have a problem copying this disk also. I have made two backups of main movie so far and both of them skip or freeze for about 10 seconds throughout the movie. I think I counted it freezing about 6 times. Then, towards the end of the movie, the audio sink is way off. I'm trying it again a 3rd time and I'll see what happens. I think I'm wasting a disk though. If I had a 50GB disk then I would try the full disk backup.

Are you playing on a PS3? Older or newer?

Older (Fat) version with the latest update (3.66).

I just made another coaster. I get all the way through the burning process on making a Main Movie disk and successfully burn a disk but the backup I make skips. I noticed that when previewing the movie in the bottom left corner of DVDFab that it skipped around the same times as the burned copy. At about 10 minutes in it starts to skip and at about 10:43 it freezes for about 40 seconds. Then, throughout the movie it skips and at about an hour or more into it the audio sync is off.

There are absolutely zero scratches on the original disk and the original plays perfectly in my PS3.

I tried both the unrated titles (2 & 4) and the theatrical version (1) and made coasters with all of them.

Oh, last time I tried making a backup I was using DVD Fab Beta 8.1.0.1.

Rockyhahn, I used an image file of the original disc (keeping the cinavia protection) to try both main movie and full disc. When I did Main movie it burned and processed successfully but has the same symptoms your having on my fat ps3. When I try full disc it hangs in the 00166.mt2s file (even though in versions prior to 8.0.9.9 it never did and always failed with the error of this thread right before the burn)...and I know full disc overall has been giving better results than main movie with other movie titles anyway so it's frustrating.

Btw...I'm doing a full disc by shrinking it down to bd25...have you tried this yet? I would never buy blank 50 gigs....way too expensive!

The copy problems weren't just for me apparently:

I'm going to be so stoked when this gets fixed

Wow, I wasn't aware that you could make an ISO and keep the Cinavia protection. I will have to give that a try.

I'll try Main Movie to a 25GB disk tonight and see what happens. I'm guessing the same problem that you are having. I assumed you used a 50 because of how big a 1 to 1 copy is. I was pretty pumped when they fixed the BDMV issue with our ASUS burners but it seems it's still buggy.

I think it's definitely the DVD Fab software because I can play the Other Guys just fine through my ASUS burner using CyberLink Power DVD (software supplied with the burner). But when I use the preview player in DVD Fab, the movie skips and the resulting backup also skips.
