I deleted DVDFab and installed that version a week ago and have the same results. It seems that the ASUS burner and the software do not mix when it comes to protected disks. I can burn any other blu-ray as long as I do not select the box to create a protected disk.

My bad, I downloaded 8.0.8.9 last week. I deleted the current version and downloaded 8.0.9.0 last night and tried to make a protected disk with RE Afterlife again. I still get the same results "process failed." I'll try using ImgBurn instead of VSO today and see if that works.
See the post just before yours, it is a problem with that particular drive, they have reproduced the error and will fix it, but it will probably require an update of DVDFab.
My burner is an LG not an ASUS and I was the original poster with this error so I hope whatever they finally figure out for a fix will fix mine as well...

Sorry etsports3, I didn't mean to jack your thread. It's weird that we have two different types of burners with the same problem. I hope they get this issue resolved soon. It's kind of frustrating to spend money on a program that doesn't work as advertized.
I have tried making an encrypted disk with the new new official release 8.0.9.2 but I have the same problem. I either get a process failed error or the program gets stuck on the "no media detected in drive f" loading bar. I have tried it with both VSO and ImgBurn with the same results as the previous versions. Cheers.
Oh no worries rockyhahn! You didn't jack the thread, I just wanted to make sure they knew that you and I have different drives which means that I don't think it's a drive issue. I really think this is something with DVDFab because it is able to do the copying portion of the protected disc perfectly fine yet for some reason it fails when it comes time to write the disc instantly before it even seems to try it.
I really really hope they can find a fix for this soon.. I feel as though it's the longest running issue thus far.
I'm having the same issue creating a protected disc of The Roommate using the ASUS drive that has been discussed on this thread. I am using DvdFab version 8.0.9.8
Tried "The Other Guys" again, except now with v8.1.0.0, the program freezes in the beginning of the copy process...and so it doesn't get to the point where it used to fail right before the burn.
