Cannot Copy "An Affair To Remember"

I tried backing up "An Affair To Remember" that was just released on Blu-ray. This is the version with Cary Grant. The disc does the initial scan and then closes the program. I tried this with version 8.1.1.5 and also with the new update 8.1.1.6 with the same result. I went back to version 7.0.8.0 and it copied with no problems.

So the issue does not appear to be the disc. I have gone back and forth between version 7 and 8 with the same results using two different Blu-ray players.

Does anybody know what is in version 8 that causes the program to shut down?

    Thanks.

No, but it would help if you could post any entries from the DVDFab internal log that relate to this title from v7 and v8. Also, complete the crash report form and send it if it pops up after the crash (does not always).

I have attached the log from 8.1.1.6 at the bottom of the message. Version 7 will no longer let me use it(It forces me to upgrade to version 8).

      Hopefully, this helps.
      Thanks

        an affair to remember

I too tried backing up this disc and have a different problem. I am using the latest v.8198. dvdfab on all other discs does that initial scanning telling you the size that the compressed file will be. On this disc it says n/a. I am using the bd25/1080i for just the main movie.

After finishing the backup the size of the file is 36GB. For some reason it will not compress the main movie. Any ideas? Regards...

I believe this is the log....I see near the bottom of the log it says need not compress, change to copy mode. seems like it just wants to do a copy with no compression???

ok but I don't understand. The output file in the bdmv\stream directory is 36gb. why isn't dvdfab compressing it so it will fit on a 25gb bdr? If I click on FULL DISC, under the volume label it says 54% (compression) 41gb>22gb. But if I click on MAIN MOVIE its doesnt give any %. It says N/A and then does the backup of the main movie as a 36gb file??? regards...

EUREKA?? I finally got the desired result but did not figure it out. After running DVDFAB and backing up the disc with the 36gb file I then read that directory into DVDFAB. When I did that I got a compression reading % (36gb-22gb) like you normally get when the original blu ray disc is in your drive.

DVDFAB then backed up the 36gb file and compressed it. I do not know why it will not do it with the original disc. A bug maybe? I know this is not a popular movie for this forum and therefore won't get many responses but its food for thought. Hopefully it does not affect other titles....FYI...Regards...
