Playing Movie from HD

After I RIP ( using DVDFAB BD Copy ) an uncompressed version of a BD to HD -- Is there a way to play it off the HD ?

I have CyberLink DVD Power 9 and it does not seem recognize the Riped file ?

Try mounting the miniso file using DVDFab Virtual Drive, then select that drive letter in PowerDVD.

Can I make the miniso file from the Full Disk backup ? ( I usually uncheck the miniso option )

Or do I need to go back a re-rip the BD ? to get the miniso ?

Try here. I copied the full disk of THE EXPRESS and this player played beautifully. Not an ISO either.

There is no way to make a miniso after-the-fact, sorry. You can make an image file using ImgBurn in Build mode that PowerDVD can then play using DVDFab Virtual Drive. Both ImgBurn and Virtual Drive are free.

Mini ISO NOt a full ISO

The mini ISO option is not a full ISO. The folder structure is the same as when you uncheck the Mini ISO option. The difference is a small 3k or smaller file is placed in the root folder name based on the Title so for example Transformers3.iso. So you could still play the movie using other players, burn the folders with other software etc. However with the .iso file and DVDFab Virtual drive you canload the ISO into a virtual DVD / BluRay drive and your software will play it like a disc was inserted in your drive.

In short your not actually creating an ISO of your ripped movie. The minISO file lets you simulate your ripped movie like an ISO file to load in the virtual drive so software players read it easier without loading multiple player software on your system. It's exactly like compressing it without it just you get the miniISO file to load with DVDFAb Virtual drive.

It works quite nice. I love DVDFab virtual drive and the miniISO is one of the few new inovations from DVDFab that I have enjoyed and made verifying my rips to the hard drive so much easier.

Maybe I'm missing something here but there is a way.

1) Open DVDFab & navigate to the file you wish in the Source section.
2) On the left-hand pane click on "Write".
3) Tick the box next to the statement that says "Create miniso file...."

Once you tick that box, the Target selection goes away & a miniso will be created in the same folder as your original file. All in a matter of seconds.

I play movies directly from my HDD with ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 with aboslutely no problems whatsoever.

As a matter of fact, I just went through this 2 days ago with The Godfather part 2. I could not figure out a way to get sub-titles to show when they were speaking Italian. I ripped the full disc to my harddrive. When I played the movie from the file itself, the sub-titles didn't show. So, out of curiosity, I then compressed the movie only to 25GB file for burning. Still didn't play the sub-titles. I then used the miniso to compress to a 25GB file. The subtitles showed up. I can't explain it so I won't try. But it works.

I bought it & play all my movies now directly from my laptop to my TV using a 3TB external HDD. TMT 5 was the only one that would play the files within Windows Media Center. So I actually gave up on the whole miniso idea all together. I tried getting the miniso's to work & they did for a while.
