HD audio with compressed 25g copy

When I make a compressed (25g) copy in the Blu-ray copy program from a full disk iso (either created by full disk or by clone), on two of my 3D blu ray discs, if I do not enable HD audio, the image quality of the compressed copy is degraded. If I enable HD audio, the image quality if fine.

It does not appear to matter whether or not I use software only codecs or the default codec settings. I have tried it both ways. I have a third 3D blu ray, Dispicable Me, and I can make a perfectly fine compressed copy without enabling the Audio HD box.

I was wondering if someone could explain to me why on some discs, I can make a compressed copy without having to delete the HD audio and on other discs, I have to delete the HD audio when making a compressed 3D copy of the full disc?

    Thanks!

      What follows are my logs:

Zotac GTX550Ti video card, Win 7 64bit OS, 8 gig memory, Intel Intel Dual Core I6700 cpu.

The following is using the default codec settings in DVDFAB Blu-ray copy and HD Audio not disabled (the box is left unchecked). The final output shows marked degrading of the image quality. I am not talking about fine distinctions, the file output is quite poor and it is quite obvious to anyone viewing it.

Please do your compression on the HDD also both logs show cuda codecs enabled, try using software for all codecs and doing compression the HDD. It also shows your source being 51gb which is a bit bigger the a 50gb disc. This I think because it's an ISO which reports what ever info is stated on the disc so they can accomplish this. Also make sure all your drivers are upto date!
        For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

Thanks for the reply. I will try software only codecs. I am doing the compression on my harddrive. I have two hard drives and I sent the output to the second drive rather than the source drive.

I do not understand why it reports the source iso as being 51gb as it is only 39 gbs.

When you leave the HD audio box unchecked, there are significantly fewer bits available for the video when selecting an output size smaller than the original. The one that you say looks bad has half the bitrate of the one that looks good:

            looks bad=average_bitrate(2636 kbps)
            looks good=average_bitrate(4135 kbps)

This could also be related to the size and encoding of the original, not sure. Note that these bitrates would be considered low for a DVD, much less a Blu-ray.

OK, now I am starting to understand the logs and what the average bitrate is telling me.
              This is quite helpful!

Clearly, my bitrate suffers if I do not check the HD audio box. What other variables effect the bitrate?

              Thanks!

Also, what is considered good bitrates for blu ray?
