DVDFab 8.1.5.2 Follow up - issue is not BD+

DVDFab 8.1.5.2

I had the same errors again today trying to copy Killer Elite. Full disc produces copy that will play previews but does not access the feature. Tried to make Main Movie copy only and got the same errors immediately as before (see previous post).

Tried a different way to see if any difference. Changed destination from network drive to local drive and now get no error. Ripping as I type this and will come back to report success or failure.

ERROR MAY BE RELATED TO NETWORK DRIVES... not protection.

UPDATE: the main movie rip to local disk works perfectly. Error is network drive related... not BD+ protection.

Fengtao and them are on the issue. I chanegd my target drive from the network to local and still get the error on Contagion. I have the UPC 883929206469 disk.

More Info as requested

My version came from BestBuy. I was able to use a friends PS3 and the movie plays fine. So it seems that even though there are two versions of the same movie that are out now, one with the DVD and one without the DVD that the protection used is different as one would normally think that at a minimum from the same region the protection would be identical considering the costs involved to have separate production runs and the disk has to match the packaging its in. Not knowing the full internal structure of the blu ray disk itself, is it possible that each disc in its header contains its upc code or some other identifier? Does anyone know about that? It would explain why one version works and the other is not supported yet.

Best Buy sells multiple vesions of Contagion. Did you check the UPC symol on yours and whether it is 883929206469 or one of the others, which is supported ?

yes i checked the version against mine and they had both versions there side by side so i could see the differences between the two and matched the upc codes for each type

Sorry forgot to mention that the single disc version is 883929206469 and the blu-ray dvd combo is the other upc

the DVDFab 8.1.5.3 Qt Beta did work with my disc and was able to finally back it up. Thanks Team and all who gave suggestions

Midnight in Paris

The new beta release also corrects a problem with the Region A "Midnight in Paris" blu-ray, where a full disk copy would not play back (locks up on black screen as soon as it loads before even offering a menu or java loading logo). The new beta ripped it and it plays fine on my computer via the miniso. I'll burn it to a rewritable also to test.

8.1.5.3 does address the DVDcopy issue for Comntagion but be aware that it breaks the AC3 HQ profile when ripping Blu-Rays.
