cannot get dolby 5.1 audio output

I am sure I am missing something obvious in the settings, but no matter what I do I am only able to get a file output with stereo audio. Using version 8.1.6.0 and trying to blu-ray copy main movie from pirates of the caribbean 1, 2 or 3. I am selecting the audio track labeled ac3/5.1 and have tried all 3 movies - all result in a m2ts file with stereo audio.

any thoughts? Appreciate any help on this.

AC-3/2? What are you using for playback or to check the output file? You might also try v8.1.6.1, just released today.

i am using total media theater for playback. I just browsed to the m2ts file in the stream folder created by DVD fab and checked properties>details

Bit Rate 256kbs
Channels 2(stereo)
Audio Sample Rate 48hz

Weird - the info from that program would seem to indicate it is in fact ac3-5.1, unless I am misreading the report. If so, why would the normal windows properties>detail just show the file as 2 channel stereo audio as indicated above?
