    Hi bigsmooth,
Please goto Common settings page, DVD/Blu-ray->Read, select "Ignore all reading errors automatically" and then try it again. Wish it helps.

Please click on the Tips on Troubleshooting Analyzing/Ripping dvds link below in my sig.
It will cover many common ripping errors and remedies.

Any chance you can exchange the dvd as 90312 suggests?

here's the thing. i was told to:
First save it to your HDD as BD50 without compression.
Then open the hard drive folder and use "Main Movie" mode select BD25 to compress to another folder on your hard drive.
i did all that, but when i did the main movie option, it gets to 15.10 percent and stops. im getting the same results whether im doing it from the disc or a folder. it goes without any problems when i saved it to my hard drive as bd50. just when i do the main movie bd25 i have problems

Could you please check if the disc is dirty or scratched?

You can clone it to hard disk to see the result.

ive already cloned it from the disc at 50gb without compression as i was told to do. then i was told to:First save it to your HDD as BD50 without compression.
Then open the hard drive folder and use "Main Movie" mode select BD25 to compress to another folder on your hard drive.

ive done all that. im getting the results of 15.10 when i open the hard drive folder and use "Main Movie" mode select BD25 to compress to another folder on the hard drive. i can clone it as bd50 with no problem. if i try to compress to 25gb either with the disc or from the folder, im getting the same results.

Disable all gpu acceleration. I see that you disabled Lightning-Recoding, but please confirm this did not "reset".
All AV Codec settings should be set to software only.

You said BD50 rips ok....have you played the movie back from your hdd to confirm?
What was the last version that compressed without any problems?

None of us can reproduce this which makes "remote" troubleshooting exceedingly difficult.

If no luck with the above, try using the latest version which worked for you and post the results.
You may want to consider doing this as a temporary work-around.

Please try this and report the results. Using whatever tools you have, try playing the same folder that you are trying to compress (from your K: drive) and see if it plays correctly. Use a software player on your PC, do not burn it to disc. There are free tools to do this if you need them.
