    Oh boy....

Think I have been copying my blu-rays all wrong. Until I just watched the how to video I never noticed the dropdown menu when copying my disc to a hard drive. I didnt see that I can change from BD to BD 1080.

Im going to assume I have shortchanged myself on the quality of my copies.

No, not at all. That setting is the size dropdown is for compressing to BD-9 or BD-5. If you had it set for BD50 or BD25 before, they would have been copied just as the original disc, probably 1080p.

I would not say shortchanged! But if you changed from DB50 to BD25 most likely on anything other then movie only you were doing some compression! I think by default it set to BD50 so which ever module your using will copy uncompressed!
