I tried using the 8.1.7.2. beta and it did nothing didn't even try to open the disc so I went back to the 8.1.6.8.version and it says--check if discs is playable.Even the title for the movie comes up as []... I tried differerent Lord Of War discs and it's the same. This is the only movie that gave me problems

Was there ever an answer to this? I'm running 9.0.4.5 and have the same problem. I get the "Reading/Writing Error Control" message while it's reading. Tried "Ignore All" - the normal list of chapters will appear eventually, but then at 49% the process freezes, the "Task Time Left" counter goes to zero, the Fps drops to 0.02, but the "Task Time Elapsed" counter keeps running. Tried it on multiple computers, get the same problem (if they'll read the disc at all). Disc plays just fine on multiple BD players.

                Hi TheaterNut
If you are receiving read errors you may have a bad disc.
Try cleaning the disc with windex and wiping with a lint free cloth from the center out and try again.
If still having problems post your internal log with the attempt on this disc, the newest attempt will be at the end of the log just copy and paste it here..

I've tried cleaning the disc numerous times, to no avail. After posting I pulled the disc and put it back in, and DVDFab read the disc and analyzed the title without any errors, which hasn't happened since the first time I tried this computer several days ago. Of course, it took over an hour just for that to happen. I'm doing the rip right now, I'll post back with the log tomorrow morning if I have any issues.

Your log is incomplete, please open the internal log using Notepad, highlight the text for the correct log session, and use Save As to save it to a new text file. You can attach it to a post rather than using copy and paste with the Manage Attachments button below the text editing window.

I posted everything that was in the log starting after the cancellation of the previously failed session. I can put it in a .txt file but there won't be anything extra. If you'd like me to post material from before that session, I can do that.

I've uploaded a .txt of the log that includes all of my attempts to read the disc from that day. The portion that I posted earlier is located after the several carriage returns - this is the portion that occurred after I opened the disc drive, closed it back up, and performed my last read/rip attempt. Thanks in advance for your help.

There are a heap of read errors in that log.

Are you sure that it is not a defective or scratched disk? Inspect, clean, polish & retry.
