Comment on 3D full disc to 3D BD25

I just wanted to comment that I have tried the 3D Full Disc to 3D BD25 copy feature of the latest beta (8.1.8.1) and it appears to work very well. I did not watch the whole movie that I copied to BD25, but the sections that I did watch looked very good to me.

    Neat!!

Copying is no slower, at least for me, than copying a full disc 2D movie to BD25 format.

I tried backing up Piranha 3d to a 25gb rewrite disc twice with no success.
The second time the movie loads but when it asks which version i want to watch. I pick the 3d version and all it does was read and go back to the main menu. Please tell me step by step what you did to accomplish a successful backup of a 3d 50 gb disc to 25 gb dics. Thanks. Never had any success backing up 3d unless I clone it.

I tried with Tintin 3D and it worked very well (but took very long to render...)
I did a ISO and copied it on a DB25 with ImgBurn.

One thing i must add : Within fast scenes the movie stutters !!
I don´t know if it is because the DB-RE i used or the render-result.
      hmmm

I used Thor and had no problems, but as I indicated, I have not watched the whole movie from beginning to end. I did not see any stuttering in the few actions scenes I watched.

I think only time will tell how good this is. This was just a preliminary report on my part.

Could someone explain the procedure that you used successfully. Full disc 3d to 25gb the hdd? The IMG Burn using write data? or Full Disc burn? Anyone try a disc that has both 3d and 2d options like I did with Piranha? 2d plays but not 3d?

            Hi!

The procedure I used was to first clone a copy of my 3D blu ray to my hard drive. Then I selected Blu ray copy Main Movie and set it to ISO and BD25 and chose my hard drive as the destination. The box for 3D was already selected. Then I pushed start and waited about 10 hours. Then I burned the new ISO to a BD-RE to test it before I burned it to a regular BD25 disc. I use Imgburn for the burning.

I hope this helps. I do not believe I have any discs that have both the 3D and 2D options. I don't see why that should be a problem, though. But, I do not know.

The release notes have instructions, including to use the built-in burning engine in DVDFab, not ImgBurn.

Still the same bug that is there for months now.. with 25BG-3D too !

                  Hi all:
Thank you for your feedback really!

                  *To rjl2005:
Only DVDfab Full disc option can compress Blu-ray 3D 50GB to 25GB for now . Looks your selected Blu ray copy Main Movie.

                  *To unclebubbies:
This should be a problem of .ssif files. Please make sure the .ssif files were created in folder "FullDisc\Movie Name\BDMV\STREAM\SSIF\".

                  *To jeppa:
This was a known issue, not introduced in 8181beta. We are working on it.

                  *To all:
Please read the note firstly if you want use this new feature:

DVDfab burning engine is necessary which can create the "ssif" files, also Virtual drive can do this. That is mean you can compress BD 3D 50 gb to 25g(folder) in Full disc mode.
Then mount it by Virtual drive, then goes to explore to check whether the "ssif" in your virtual device.
But if you want to compress BD 3D 50 gb to 25g(ISO or Blu-ray RW disc), please set the dvdfab burning engine first in Full disc mode.

                  Thanks,
                  Potti

                    H!

I had mispoken - inccorrectly typed in Main Movie when I meant Full Movie. I do apologize to everyone for this. I do not know why I said I copied the Main Movie when I was thinking Full Movie.

I really am sorry as I know that this kind of mistake can cause a great deal of confusion.

It's ok, bob, in fact there are several known issues with this new feature since it involved many core changes, and we are working hardly to perfect it, please wait for next beta.

How comes that f.e. "The Lion King 3D" is only 17.8GB (ISO) after conversion ?
                        Tintin is 19.2GB...

There is some unused "space" left on a BD25 that could be used but isn' t ... why is this???

If your using a playstation 3 and get a black screen after 25 gig blu-ray loads give it a few seconds then push the red colered button on the remote control this is if you brought the bluetooth remote control for your playstation.
For some reason it works and the disk plays.Their are some problems with the disk freezing and mpeg digital blocking that their working on to fix with the next beta.

                              No PS3 here....
                              it´s just stopping/not starting (PowerDVD / BD-Player).

Must be an issue with that movie ...
