Is it normal for blu-rays to take 4+ hours to copy. New to doing blu-ray use to DVD only taking 1 1/2 to 2 hours total, i am just saving to hd

It depends on your system (CPU/GPU, optical drive, etc.) and what you are trying to do. Remember that Blu-rays are often 3-5X the size of a DVD of the same movie so they will take longer and place more demands on your system, especially if you are compressing them to a smaller size. Four hours is slow but not outrageously slow, and your speed on DVDs is not that great either. If you are planning on doing lots of Blu-rays, consider an upgrade to a machine with an Intel quad core CPU and high end nvidia graphics, fast (7200 rpm, big buffer) hard drives and lots of fast RAM.
