    @CRB929:
    Don't have any new burn log because so far, I never accomplished any successful burns with the 2208. However, I kept the midnight oil burning and gave it one more try, so I could chronologically capture and annotate what I physically did versus what was captured in both logs.

    The following notes relate to the most current portions of both logs that I have posted below my notes.

    - At about 20:50, used the BDR 2208 to initiate a Full Disc copy of the movie "The Raven", from previously pre-saved disc to the PC hdd. The file was 21.7 GB, and to about 10 minutes to transfer.

    - At about 21:10, used the BDR 2208 to initiate hdd File to Disc copy of the saved movie file. Started experiencing the same problem as previously described.

    - After about 5 minutes, I hit the DVDfan process "cancel" button, and the program stopped running in about 1/2 minute. The burner also stopped whining a few seconds later. However, had to reboot the PC in order to get the burner to eject the disc. (Same symptoms as before).

    - I noticed there was no new entry wrt any of this evolution made to the Burn Log. Believe, this may be the result of my having to "cancel" DVDfab during the burn process.

    Aloha,
    GadgetVictim
    Let me know if I can provide anything else that may help!

      Update

      The following povides some info from other chats recently posted on this subject:

      @geilee
      I have McAfee installed in my PC. So, I turned the active and scheduled scans off, and rebooted my PC.

      Did I do enough to disable my Antivirus?? I could not find any other switches (e.g.; Turn-Off or Disable Antivirus) in my McAfee that I could switch off. I got all kinds of alarms from McAfee tell me that my computer was at risk.

      FYI, I too have a similar problem as Frost271. My system also periodically reboots my PC during the DVDFab blu-ray copy process. Did not want to muddy the water with this Pioneer problem, because this problem has also been occurring for months, and prior to my purchasing the Pioneer 2208.

      Haven't tried running DVDFab Blu-Ray Copy with McAfee turned off as yet. Will post something later after I run that combo.

      Regards,
      GadgetVictim

          Using a BDR-205 and a BDR-206D without issue.

              Update:

              @signals: (1) Thanks for moving my post to new location. Seems like I'm getting some additional visibility here. (2) I did as you requested and now on version 8.2.2.4.

              @drobo: Thanks for info on BDR-205 and BDR-206.

              @Darth56: See below results:

              - Remade a successful Full Disc copy of The Raven to HDD using drive D (BDR-2208).
              - As recommended, move resulting HDD copy of The Raven file to "H:/FullDisc/THE_RAVEN_BD/BDMV/"

              Attempts to make copies of the above file resulted in the follow mixed bag:
              - BDR-2208 (aka dive D: in the below log) failed to copy this file to disc using DVDFab Write Copy function.
              - However, legacy internal LG WH10LS30 (aka drive E: as shown in the below log),
              successfully completed a copy of the same file.

              Copy of Internal Log provided below:

                  I only use Imgburn to burn my discs. The DVDFab burning engine has always been very sloooooow for me. I get full burn speeds and really good quality from Imgburn...

                  I have had NO more issues burning since removing Bitdefender Internet Security 2013. I am back on my Kaspersky license and all is good...

                    Eureka! Sucess!

                    @Jonatan & @geilee: Eureka!!! Successfully made BR copy using Pioneer BDR-2208. THANK YOU!! Sorry I took so long to respond.

                    Per your recommendation, downloaded and used "Imgburn" and went through the process provided in the instructional video and accompanying text.

                    @Jonatan: Thanks for forwarding me the instructions posted by troy512. Imgburn is really slick, and burned the BR copy in about 10 minutes.

                    However, kinda felt like a monkey blindly following a recipe while installing Imgburn to run with DVDFab. Therefore, I have several questions:

                    QUESTION #1: I don't understand what a Disc ID is and what information or text I should be typing in??? Did not have any default value in my ImgBurn "Disc ID" setting, so I typed in what was displayed in the instructional video: "MCC-004-00". (FYI: I BD-R disc I'm using is Optical Quantum 25GB 4X Speed. )

                    QUESTION #2: What "Write Speed" value should I be using?? Is the "Write Speed" value related to the "Disc ID" setting? I used "8X” for the ImgBurn "Write Speed" as shown in the video, and it seem to work okay. So in my case, should I have been using the OQ 4x speed value??? Appears that, limiting speed would be the lesser of the speed between the write speed of the "Disc" versus the "Device"?

                    Again, Thank you,
                    Gadget
                    PS: I have other problems with my PC using DVDFab. So, just wanted to let you know that y-all will see some later postings from me on these issues.

                      After burning second disc with ImgBurn, I realized that if I had a blank disc in the drive, it would have given me the above information: "PHILIP-R04-000".

                      I kept the Write Speed at 8X, and noticed that ImgBurn showed a "Write Rate" that averaged about 8X (max).

                      Wonder what would happen if I canked the Write Speed up to 15X (which is what Pioneer BDR-2208 is rate at)?

                      Ciao, Gadget

                        Hi GadgetVictim
                        "PHILIP-R04-000" is the MID or Disc ID" of the discs your using, so you will want to set that up in ImgBurn.
                        If you put a blank disc in your drive and start ImgBurn, click discovery, this will tell you all the information about your blank disc including burn speeds.

                        If you set up the AWS in ImgBurn correctly you will want your burn speed to be 1/2 the rated speed of your discs.

                        If you cranked it up to 15x you will probably have a lot of "coasters" if you want to throw a party.

                        If you post a complete burn log we may be able to assist you on setting up the correct burn speed if you have trouble finding it.

                          ImgBurn Log

                          @CRB929
                          I did not think of checking the burn log. Should have checked it prior to sending last set of posts.

                          After scanning through the resulting imgburn log, I come to realize how much information is contained in the burn log.

                          Despite my entries during the setup/initilization process, it looks like ImgBurn may have automatically detected the PHILIP-R04-000 disc, and set the write speeds accordingly.

                          FYI, below provides a copy of the last burn log.

                            It set the write speed to "MAX" which in this case was 10X. See if it plays OK, if not reduce the burn speed setting from MAX to 6 or 8X and try again.

                              @signals,
                              Disc plays great.
                              So I'll leave all the settings alone (on automatic).
                              I'll adjust speed ONLY IF I encounter further writing problems.
