    DVDFab Crashing for Blu-ray move...

I have tried to rip No Country for Old Men for Blu-ray with 3 different discs but every time I try the program crashes while initializing/reading the disc. Is this due to some new fancy protection?

Don't think so, at least if I am interpreting the log correctly. I don't have this disc to test. Sorry you are having a problem with it.

        It's not BD+.

It happened again for Fast and Furious. It always crashes on bootup. This is possibly a bug. Here is the log for this one:

          DVDFab 6.0.7.0

          0m 13.68s: detected blu-ray
          0m 13.68s: drive F
          0m 13.68s: volume label FAST_AND_FURIOUS
          0m 59.23s: root 8CBB64827BDAFF01_VOLUME_SET_ID:FAST_AND_FURIOUS:FA ST_AND_FURIOUS:FAST_AND_FURIOUS
The discs are in perfect condition and play perfectly on my computer and PS3. There is a bug in DVDFab for the blu-rays that makes it crash.

I also tested his on 2 other computers with a blu-ray reader... Same error. This seems to be a bug in the software.

              Hi aco,
Your problem is not a BD+ issue, if it was, and this will always happen with out fail, you will get a pop up telling you that this is a BD + disc and unsupported, if you did not receive this message then we can rule out BD+ as the problem.
So a few questions, so I know what your working with.
              1) what is your OS.
              2) what is the model of the BD drive that you are using.
              3) is the firm ware up to date on your driver.
              4) have you downloaded Imgburn.

get back to me with this info and we can proceed from there.
              Thanks

OK, you might be right on the OS, but from every thing I have been reading, 7seems to work pretty well, I am still using XP, so not familiar yet with OS7, anyway below is the current firmware for your Dell driver.

OK now let's take alook at your setting ,open common setting at top bar when DVDFab is open green dot with check mark in it.

                    DVD/Blu-ray ---> Read ---> I/O Mode --auto --- Blu-ray ---. file Reading Mode --- Internal (UDF 2.50 Parser+ I/O).

Write --- Burn Engine --- ImgBurn --- Blu-ray ---Write Speed -- recommended --- all boxes left unchecked.

Protection --- all four boxes should be checked-- and region code should be at (A) if you live in N.A.
check all these setting and give it try to see if this works for you, if not please let me know, and we'll keep hammering at.

                    good luck this aco

                      Hi Gadgerman,
look at most recent post to aco, and follow the same procedure, as you have the same OS as I do and the same driver ( check that your firmware is up to date it should be at YL05 ) you should not be encountering any problems.
let me know if you continue to have issues though.

                      good luck Gadgerman

                          Yeah, that's not good,
aco, if this is a OS 7 issue I am not qualified to address it.

If on the other hand, it's a DVDFab issue, I would think you would have a log in
the DVDFab file in your documents, if you do, would you post it then.
                          thanks.

As you can see I tried No Country for Old Men (NOC1NNE1) numerous times with no luck. The same goes for Fast and The Furious (Gadgerman has this same issue and he runs XP). I might add that I am running 32bit of Windows 7 Pro.

UPDATE: Nothing worked in XP mode... forget that.

As you can see I tried No Country for Old Men (NOC1NNE1) numerous times with no luck. The same goes for Fast and The Furious (Gadgerman has this same issue and he runs XP). I might add that I am running 32bit of Windows 7 Pro.

UPDATE: Nothing worked in XP mode... forget that.
yeah, I am not seeing any thing unusual here so am wondering if it is Win 7 issue, maybe some one else on this forum who has win 7 can have a look, and offer up some advice or a solution, sorry I couldn't be of more help, as for Gadgerman, I posted him, but have not heard back, so don't know his status on my recommendations, ie: if it worked or didn't
