Caddyshack Read Error / BLOW Read Error

    Okay this seems a bit ridiculous but here is what is happening;

    I am on a 7th Caddyshack Blu-Ray and on a 3rd BLOW Blu-Ray Disc.

On all [7] Caddyshacks they get to the 52 - 58% mark and then they get a read error.

BLOW gets to between 56 and 62% and then gets a read error.

The group of us that have DVD FAB all have the same problem with all Blu-Rays involved.

We have an ASUS G73, Dell Precision, Lenovo Desktop and a hand build monster PC and all [4] have the same issue with the read error on these two Blu-Ray titles.

This cannot be coincidence of dirty Blu-Rays, they are all clean and in the case of Caddyshack we have had [7] of them.

Has anybody else seen a similar problem and been able to resolve it?

Are you using bit defender for security program?

    Bitdefender Internet Security...

for some reason it interferes with fabcore.exe so that it keeps increasing in memory usage untill it caps at a certain level and then stalls....no need to uninstall Bitdefender though..... just go into settings/Exclusions/Excluded Processes and add dvdfab.exe and fabcore.exe.....worked a treat and all is well

If this is not it post your internal log for the disk that won't work. Are you ripping to drive or converting this disk?

I do not use bit defender - here are logs

So I do not use bit defender and I will post [2] logs.

The first is with a read error that I eventually stop after retry doesn't work.

The second is after I hit retry the program just stops and turns itself off.

I don't know why sometimes it will retry and sometimes it just decides that if I hit retry to shut down the program.

        Ripping directly to hard drive

I had forgotten to answer the second part of your question.

We used DVDFab and rip directly to the HD [Copy - Main Movie]

Download VSO inspector a free program to check your disks for errors here
Editing software, video burning, DVD, Bluray, WebM,... and video downloading from the internet. Custom your own videos menu!

Check each disk with scan disk it takes a while and will check any disk in the drive for errors and stream problems.load disk in drive play on a software player then still disk and run VSO inspector and scan disk.At the end of the first scan it checks to see if their are streaming problems keeps a log and reports it's findings.

If their are deep scratches this will cause read errors.Dirt on your laser lens, dirty disks also cause read errors.Does it only happen with these two titles have you tried a new disk? Also check to see if theirs firmware updates for your drives. Also update to Fab 9066.

Sounds like an original disk problem, if its happening to more than just you using the same disk.

If VSO inspector finds bad sectors or has stream problems then we will know it's not a Fab problem then it could be a bad run of disks of those titles.

Maybe brought from the same place or made for Walmart.Having 7 of the same disk not being able to be copied without read error's on different user's machines points to a bad run of disks or badly scratched disks.

If the disk was new and it did this it would point to a bad run of disks for sure.Anyway VSO inspector will tell if it's a Fab issue or disk problem. My guess is a bad run of disks using VSO inspector will tell the story here as if it picks up read error's also then we will know Fab is not at fault.

I will try scanning with the solution provided.

I will let you know the results.

Both discs had some bad sectors.

Per that program both discs had some bad sectors.

I then placed my JAWS into the drive and it had some bad sectors - but fewer than the others and it copied fine.

I guess perhaps it is where the bad sectors are located on the disc.

None of us have any other Caddyshack Blu-Rays, lets face it 7 times didn't work so we'll not be getting that one backed up. None of us wants to be the one to buy it the second time. Maybe someday when Walmart has a Blu-Ray bin similar to the DVD bin

The original disc where all the others are copied from must have had a scratch, dust or something on it and so all other copies from it have this problem now copied on it.There can not be another explanation I can think of.

Are you all making copies from the same disc???

DVDFab has no problem with this title, I just made a Full Disc Copy of it with no read errors or other problems (using v9.0.6.7).
