Glad version 8 worked for you theirs no lightning shrink with it.
Your tests with version 9 never ran with all software had 48m 59.60s: Lightning-Recoding (accelerate H.264 software decoding and encoding) enabled for the all software log and lightning shrink works in version 9 with cuda or quick sync even if unchecked so it seems.

Which is why I said in my previous post I had it turned on by mistake. Just to make sure encoding acceleration is not the culprit. I re-ran the software-only test, and made sure everything was turned off. No CUDA, No Intel QS, No Lighting-shrink, No Lightning-Recording.

Same result. All the small files get re-created in the destination as 65,532KB files.

Attached is the log for the software-only run.

I just tested 9.1.5.0... same result.

BTW, it looks like all of the 65,532KB files get created in the destination before the compression process starts.

Lets see the log for 9150 only clean up your old logs in the internal log delete them as theirs to many in their all together start fresh cut and past only the log for the movie you are having trouble with and don't trim it.

Theirs a few things you can try:
Use the store brought disk with 9146 if your in the US.
Use 9150 if you outside the US.
Set fab for clone/burn and make a 50 gig iso clone to hard drive then take this exact bit by bit copy and put it in Fab and try to make a 25 gig disk from this clone this can work in some cases.

If this fails then try version 8 of Fab it may work.
Let us know how you make out.

That worked. So using 9.1.4.6, going from BD50 ISO image -> BD25 disc structure worked. No more large files. But from BD50 disk structure -> BD25 disc structure or BD25 ISO does not.

            thanks!

Your welcome,I always make cloned iso's first then convert from their as they are true bit for bit copy's same as what's on the disk in the same order minus the copy protection.

                b25 reduction problem

Sorry I haven't gotten back before now to your posts but I have been very busy. Thanks for th advice to try to reduce size in common settings to 22000. I tried twice but it didn't reduce to fit b25. Tried to build in image burn with the files but it said the files were to large for b25. Attached is the log you suggested of my latest trial that failed to reduce enough to burn. Hope I have attached it correctly since this is the first time I have done it. I have used dvdfab for years and this is the first time it has not worked correctly. Thanks for the help.

Gimp:You have me a little confused you say your having a 50 -25 gig compression problem with a disk that your log says didn't open. The secrete life of Walter Mitty.

So clear this up for me do you have a disk couldn't open problem or is the disk on the hard drive and it won't compress to 25 gigs?. If so we need the log that was created when you did the 50-25 gig conversion with Fab.If you can't find it try it again and post that log or try this:

If yes to can't compress file to big because of new type of copy protection try this:
Use the store brought disk with 9146 if your in the US.
Use 9150 if you outside the US.
Set fab for clone/burn and make a 50 gig iso clone to hard drive then take this exact bit by bit copy and put it in Fab and try to make a 25 gig disk from this clone this can work in some cases.

I have the same problem, what I do is is re-compressed after the first compress, to make it shrink down to lesser capacity to fit BD25...

casa8899:If your having a compression problem you need to post your internal log file for this disk so Fab can look at it and fix the program if needed. You never need to compress twice somethings wrong and we need to see what it is so please post your dvdfab internal log file thanks.

Update to Fab version 9155 then if still having a problem post your dvdfab internal log file for the movie your having trouble with.
