hmm, I actually dont want cinavia removed (I'll have to run through it again and figure out the configuration options), dune doesn't have a problem with it, so why should I change that. I'll compare 897 and 997 ]

        done with that

        Code:
        $ ./mpls_dump -vl ALLEGIANT/BDMV/PLAYLIST/00997.mpls

and I broke my rip by deleting the FAB! directory (my experience has been that it wasn't needed in the past, obviously not true anymore!)

tested the playlists manually 997 is definitely incorrect. at least at the first jump point 897 is better. (And should not that the extras are 898+)

though with all that said, just looked at the log and it agrees

              0m 36.58s: main playlist 00897.mpls

              unsure why you said 997

                Hi,

Yes, 897 is the correct playlist.

For the fulldisc playback problem, the dev is checking...

as I said, I did a dvdfab copy full disc and it now worked fine (with the above version), but dvd passkey (on same computer, but not enabled at time of the dvdfab copy) didn't.

I also note that I've now learned that the FAB! directory is required to be kept for proper playback.

any reference available for when the FAB! dir is needed, I'm used to deleting it (to save a small amount of space) without any harm, but that obviously didn't work here.

I'd note that in the passkey case I had it generate the ISO directly so couldn't have messed with the FAB! directory.

                  thanks.

The Fab log says 997 when reading your posted log but when you cut and past into this forum it now says 897 did you change it?

0m 36.58s: main playlist 00897.mpls in the fab log it says 00997 I don't see how this happens logs don't lie.Somethings not right here.

Also if you cut and paste the 997 play list of the fab log posted in post #15 and paste in note pad in windows the same thing happens the 997 fab log now changes to 897.

Yes, the FAB! dir could not be deleted for playing back. we also did a fix in Passkey 9002 and DVDFab 9314 Beta.

From personal experience the FAB! dir isn't always needed (i.e. I've deleted it many times in the past (to save space) without a problem in playback) , is there any way to predict when it is/isn't needed?

I'm guessing (based on the error that I saw from my Dune) that in some of the java code modifications it has to hit the backed up AACS data that is stored there to make it work correctly and generally the code doesn't need to do that, but in these lionsgate screenpass scenarios its more important.

If my guess is correct, it probably be obvious to dvdfab if it inserted java classes that reference FAB! or not and hence if it is really required or not.

                              any clarity would be appreciated

My full disk copy of Allegiant (UPC 031398245858) will not play in my really new Samsung standalone player and my pre Feb 2012 Samsung standalone player. All that happens is that I get a black screen. No attempt to play any menus.

The main movie Cinavia removed version plays just fine (considering there are no menus).

ImgBurn used to burn the directory structure. The disc is readable just fine in the PeeCee and I can use VLC to play the 509.m2ts file (the first file of the movie).

DVDFab Media player 2.5.0.5 will not play it either. Goes thru the motions of loading the disc, but then it does nothing else... black screen.

The attached logs are for the Cinavia removal (first) and then the full disk backup.

                                DVDFab 9.2.4.5 XP 64bit
