I am seeing more and more posts about people having various problems with the reading process pausing/hanging at various points in the reading process when trying to process Blu-Rays.
I have noticed various problems occurring after the v10.0.51 update. The v10.0.48 and before seems to work fine.
Also this seems to only be occurring with some Blu-Ray burners, but not all. For example, it happens with my Pioneer burner, but not my Lite-On.
It also appears to only be happening with some Blu-Rays, but not all.
I encountered the problem when making backup copies of my Blu-Rays of The Strain - Season 2 and Season 3 discs. Also with my Planet of the Apes 2001 Blu-Ray.
Verified the discs appear to be pristine. No marks, scratches, fingerprints, etc.
With the Strain Season 2, Disc 1 worked fine using v10.0.48, then I had updated to v10.0.51 and went to do Disc 2 and Disc 3 and ran into the read hang problem. Tried re-reading Disc 1 with the Pioneer and it now had the problem too when using v10.0.51. But the Lite-On can read them all, no problems.
Put the same discs in my Lite-On and was able to read through them fine. But in my Pioneer, they would hang part way through the read process.
The discs seem to hang anywhere between 40% and 70% of the reading process.
I tried a couple of my other movies that I had backed up previously in the Pioneer and it read through them no problem.
So... it does not appear to be a problem with the burner reading discs and its not all discs.
I have also tried using other software and the Pioneer can read Blu-Rays with no problem.
The problem only occurs with v10.0.5.x versions of DVDFab.
It appears to be some type of problem that was introduce with the v10.0.5.x updates/versions.
What in the world was changed in the reading part of the software between the v10.0.4.8 and the v10.0.5.x versions???
