    mpeg2 or h264

mpeg2 o h264. I see these are two formats. Not being knowledgeable on this subject, which is better or does it matter?

Not sure the nature of your question is clear. Standard DVDs use MPEG-2. H264/AVC and VC-1 use a newer encoding formats that were designed to allow an equal picture quality at a much reduced bitrate compared to MPEG-2. Blu-rays use versions of both, but the MPEG-2 titles (e.g. Ronin) don't look as good to me.

It was a question of which was better on Blu Ray since this is the Blu Ray forum. I never know which one to choose when given the choice copying Blu Ray.
