Where's the option to select One or many .m2ts?

I've noticed that v7.0.3 ripped BluRay into 1 large .m2ts file and that v7.0.4 rips BluRay into many .m2ts files in the STREAM folder.

    1. Where's the option to select 1 or many files?
    2. If this is structural change between v7.0.3 and v7.0.4, then where is it documented?

I'd prefer 1 large file for my Western Digital HD Media Player.

I think it depends on how the original is authored and protected. Try re-ripping one of the ones that made a single file with the earlier version using the same settings with the newer version. There are currently no controls for this that I am aware of.

Well, I wouldn't want to re-rip any BluRay since it takes 10-12 hours and secondly, I don't want to create a collection of 20+ .m2ts files. All I want is a simple 23Gb .m2ts file, which plays quite well using Western Digital HD media player via USB to external HDD.

As a matter of fact, I'm having problems viewing these multiple files. It doesn't matter which one of the 20 I select, it always plays the same segment of the movie. This is the first time that I have encountered any problem and I was hoping to be able to reset a simple user-defined setting, which would eliminate the problem.

The problem I'm having is ripping Sherlock Holmes to BD25-1080p-DTS.
v7.0.4 creates files in folder STREAM: 000155.m2ts through 000178.m2ts and it doesn't matter what I select, the same segment plays using Western Digital HD media player via USB.

Lastly, is there a utility that can combine/concatenate these 20+ files into 1 large file?

Yes, there is - tsMuxerGUI. It's a freeware, try it - you would like it - it does more than just join .ts

          Possible work around

Thanks. Hopefully, tsMuxerGUI will enable a work around.

In the mean time I just tested and checked a hunch...

          1. I copied just the 000155.m2ts-000178.m2ts files to a new folder.
          2. I renamed these files 000000.m2ts- 000023.m2ts
          3. Selected 000000.m2ts and the beginning of the movie started. Hurray!
          4. But, now Western Digital HD Media player will not advance to next file in series. So I must exit file/clip and select next file/clip.

Hopefully tsMuxerGUI will solve this problem by creating one large file.

However the main point of this topic still remains...

          1. Is this problem of generating multiple .m2ts files unique to Sherlock Holmes, or will all future rips from v7.0.4 create 20+ files?

          2. If so, then when will users be given the option to choose whether or not they wish to create one file? (one file is media player friendly)

DVDFab is reproducing the BD structure as it is. It just compresses the various video segments so they fit in the desired disc size (BD25). The M2TS files are part of the BD structure and are not intended to be accessed directly (although this is sometimes possible).

TsMuxer is an option but you would manually have to figure out which files to include and in what order. The studios do this on purpose as part of the copy protection scheme. A better bet is to use DVDFab Blu-Ray to Mobile with the MKV option. You could then rip in full quality (remux) or use the H264 profile and pick the file size you wish.

              1. It's not a problem, it's just a copying original BD structure. Nothing is wrong with it.
              2. Probably never. Vast majority of video enthusiasts using some kinda container to pack all tracks (streams) into, i.e. MKV, BD, AVI etc. So, those few like you who's using "naked" videofile can use utilities to handle it outside DVDFab. Because there is really a very few of you, I don't think Fab should be bloated with something completely useless for majority.

Complication, thanks for the tip regarding using BluRay to Mobile using MKV. I didn't know that I could do that.

Since I don't have a smart mobile device, I didn't even think of exploring this feature. So here is another use for this feature, which doesn't involve a mobile device.

Yes, I had hoped that they would call it BD to File or something to avoid the confusion.

Yeah Complication, I regard the "XXX to Mobile" naming as a HUGE & confusing misnomer.

Only 1 of the 10 devices that I use for playback are "mobile" in any shape or form.

Ripping to one M2ts is something I would like to see, but do it in the bd to mobile section, that way blu-ray to blu-ray can stay simple. Another note is use version 6060 as it rips bds to one m2ts file.
