I have tried to backup madagascar 2. using the following steps

1 - decode set to DXVA
2 - encode set to software
3 - ran full disk backup (bd50) to HDD
4 - from full backup on HDD ran compression to BD25 on HDD
5 - used IMGBURN to create ISO file
6 - used dvdfab virtual drive (latest Version) to mount ISO
7 - powerdvd on computer plays but play back is very jsery and audio is out of sync
8 - burned ISO to a sony BD-RE 25gb disc to play on a panasonic DMP-BD60 player - get message that the disc isn't valid.

my computer is a dell xps9000
    9 gig memory
    nvidia gt220 card
    intel careI7 (quad core cpu)
    C drive is 500 GB
    d Drive is 1.5 TB

    Update

Last night I backed up Madagascar to my HHD using

software setting for both encode and decode
full Disc at 50gb no compression
    created iso using imgburn
mounted iso using dvdfab virtual drive

the movie played perfectly, no jerkiness or audio issues.
did not get to try to compress to 25gb.

will try that tonight and post the results.

What is the Quality% readout when compressing? Have you tried playing the compressed stream back with VLC to see if the jerkiness is present
      there also?

VLC is a media player, best of all it's free!

I backedup the disc to 25gb with compression, this worked without any jerky picture or audio issue, created the ISO with dvdfab engine.

when I tried to burn to disc, got an error, including the logs

              Hi pilot57,

You need format the BD-RE with ImgBurn's "Erase Disc -> Full" to get full capacity. Currently your default BD-RE capacity is 23098 MB, after re-format you will get 23866 MB.

Or you can change BD25 size to 23000 MB in DVDFab's settings to allow burning successfully.

              Best Regards,
              Fengtao

DVDFab is the all-in-one software package for copying Blu-ray/DVD and converting video file.
