Burning Successfully but can't be read by my PS3

    Hi everyone,

I just got my new Lite-On LH20A1L and I can successfully burn Blu-Ray Movies. They look great on my PC. The problem is that i want them to watch on my PS3 and it can not see the disks. I bought Verbatim 25gb 4x BD -R Disks. I used the BD25 1080P compression standard. Any idea what I did wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi JakeDog,

    Please post dvdfab_internal.log, thanks.

Also, do you use "Full Disc" or "Main Movie"?

    Best Regards,
    Fengtao

        More Specs

        Hi again,

The log file is immense so I will clear it and then try again before posting it. I tried to do an entire disc direct disc to disc copy first, compressing it to BD25 so it would fit. I got through the rip but upon inserting my blank Disc I got "Not a Blu Ray dsic" error. I then tried to just do the main movie and I got the same error. Next I tried to rip the main movie to an ISO and then burn it to disc and it worked fine and I can watch it on my PC. My PS3 doesn't see the disc after scanning it. I tried a second movie and did the entire movie this time first to ISO then to disc and got the same results. In reading the forums I have seen people recommending that you rip to a file first then to disc I will try that next. My PS3 is running the latest firmware version and can see AVCHD files from my camcorder so I am unsure what is not working. Perhaps I am just missing a step.

          JakeDog,
no, you are not missing a step, but most likely your content is "unchewable" for your PS3. If you can watch your movie on a computer, your content is fine.... it's a compatibility issue with your PS3. Again, not knowing much of a details, I'm guessing that it's audio component could be a problem, since PS3 is very limited in audio formats.

I just downloaded and installed the latest version. I tried the full movie direct copy option again using BD25. It rips the entitre movie then asks for a blank disc to start the write process. Upon inserting a new clean Verbatim BD-R 4x 25gb disc it says 'Detecting Writable Media in drive X:" then is spits it out saying "Media inserted in drive X: is not blu-ray disk. Please insert a blu-ray disc to start the write process" Something is definitely wrong with the program. If i burn to iso I can make the disc but it won't be read by the PS3. Argh...

Ok so here is the latest. I can rip to AVCHD and stream it to my PS3. Not a bad option. Unfortunately, I am getting no primary sound and 2 secondary sound tracks of different commentary. I try to rip the primary HD audio and it comes up with nothing. I am still unable to burn to BD-R and have the PS3 see it. Help...

PS3 can't handle HD sound, you have to downgrade it to DTS core or AC3 (depending on your original format). Selection of "Remove HD Audio" option in DVDFab should do the trick.

PS3 cannot handle HD Audio in a file/streamed. It should be fine on a BD disc.
