    Just installed Gtx 470 nothing working

    I have just installed a GTX 470 card hoping to get a better performance from the program and now i cannot get it to work at all. I have tried with all software, all CUDA and a mix of both. I also just got the latest beta installed. I just updated my drivers before retrying the last time. I have eclosed my logs from todays failure. Any help would be appriciated. Thnx in advance.

    Just like the BOLD says and will have to be made on a BD50 disc as can not compress

      The movie sources should have worked, but both have the same error code. The interpretation of these codes has not been released publicly, so you will need to contact the developers using the Contact Us link on the dvdfab.com website (not the one here in the forum). When you get your DVDFab installation updated, try software decode and encode first. You can see in Settings->AV Codec if DVDFab has recognized the CUDA drivers for your video card. If so, try setting just the encode to Software+CUDA.

        tried all already

        I have tried all the above when encoding. Software only, software cuda, cuda only. I keep getting the same process failed message with each movie i try and with each method. It worked fine with my old crappy 9500gt card.

          Have you updated to the newest release yet? May not matter for interlaced content but could for something else. What does it say on the AV Codec page in Settings?

              The last log shows 7082, the newest is the 7085 beta.

                  No, I don't think so but that is what I am trying to establish.

                    Last beta before new release crashes

                    I had installed the last beta before the new version was released and it failed to work at all. I have since tinkered and found that seting DXVA for the decoder helps out a bit with the encoder set to software only. It still crashes on startup quite a bit but it at least starts now and then. A newer post has stated that they are working on Fermi 4xx support so i believe that may be the biggest issue as ALL firmware is up to date on computer and player and registry is cleaned on a daily basis and i have a dedicated drive for all Blu-ray activity(burning and writing). I use the full size ISO on the hard drive and the recompress as needed method for all types(main movie, full disc). Hopefully the Fermi update is quick in coming. Thank you to all who have helped.

                      I have the GTX 480 and I'm able to use DVD Fab fine except for using CUDA to do anything. But software works fine. So it's not a compatability issue with Fermi and Fab except you can't use Cuda. I've been using the Coreavc instead of software for better performance until Fab is CUDA / Fermi compatible.

                        GTX 480 superoverclocked without CUDA works with 6.xxx and so far all 7.xxx versions with no issues. I've had the 480 for a few months. I run 6.xx and 7.xx on the same system using the older version for some mobile conversions that work better. Something else is wrong and has nothing to do with the GTX 470 installed in the system.

                          Fab software tech stated problems with Fermi cards

                          As stated earlier in this thread and in later ones by the people who code this product, there is an incompatabilty problem with Fermi based card and DvdFab. Why else would they state they are working on a FIX for the problem. Also as stated earlier in this very thread, a crappy old 9500 gt worked with ZERO problems. The only thing that changed? The instalation of a gtx 470 Fermi card. I also stated that i was able to get it to work partially. For reference check out this thread for a posting from the software engineers.

                            Sorry. I meant it has nothing to do with the combination of the 470 installed and DVDFab in general. There is definitely something else wrong on his system when he installed the 470 that is causing the problem. Bad wording on my part. No issue with DVDfab in my opinion due to the 470 in general.

                              I am the poster of the problem

                              I was the poster of this thread and there is no other conflicting software, all drivers for all hardware and software are up to date, registry cleaned daily and no harware conflicts. The card itself passes and exceeds all tests for deficiencies and conflicts. The coding in dvdfab is an issue as they (software engineers) are working on a fix. Worked PERFECTLY with a very old Nvidia 9500gt. It is a conflict between the program and the card. That does not mean something is wrong with the program it just means newer hardware always requires tweaking. The only thing that changed was installing the new video card. Every other encoding and decoding software installed on my computer is still functioning perfectly. As stated by, Fengtao (DVDFab Architect) on July 29 2010 i quote;

                              "We are working on GTX 4xx cards, and it should be done soon."

                              That is a clear indication of a problem and a solution being addressed. Again it does not mean the program is bad, defective or garbage. On the contrary it means that the engineers have seen a problem and are doing their best to address it asap. Even went so far as to reinstall old 9500gt and everything still worked. I sold the card is the only reason i am not using it. The program functions enough for me to do what little i need it to do with my 470. I am still very happy with it.
