    What affects copy rate speed?

I noticed that when I copy blu directly to hard disk, I get different copy speed with different movies. With my notebook, I most always get a speed rate of 6+ MB/s. Yet some movies, there is a big drop on the speed. Robin Hood and Absolute Power, for instance, has a 1+ MB/s speed. I use same settings for all my copies, so I'm not sure what gives. Is this because of the way some disks are created? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process (w/o any hardware upgrades/changes)?

    Thanks for any info.

    Hi Dvdgamer,

1.The speed depends on your computer configuration, the size of source blu-ray disc, the write speed you chose, etc.

    2. For your problems, please open "Common Settings" window in the upper right corner of DVDFab main screen, click on "General", click on "Reset DMA" to see the result.

3.Please shut down all the other tasks in your Windows task manager. Multitasking is therefore a pain while you copy or burn a DVD.

The speed of the copy depends on what your are copying and the configuration of you PC.
How strong is your processor and everything.

Thanks. I do understand that it would depend on PC configuration and speed. What I do not understand is that why, for vast majority of the movies I copy, the speed would be around 6.5 mb/s. While for some, the speed would just drop down to 1.5 mb/s. What would influence this, given that I always have the same configuration and have not made any changes, using the same PC? Would this be because of how these movies were encoded? If not, then is there some fix to this issue?

I would appreciate getting feedback on what your experience is with making copies, esp. as these are copies directly to hard disk. Do you also see fluctuations in speed depending on the movie you are copying?

        Thanks again.

          You've answered your own questions!!!

Yes, it is because of how the title was originally encoded.
No, there can be no fix for this,

Thanks. I was thinking that maybe that was the reason, but yet hoping it was not, so there would be ways of increasing the copy speed. The way it currently works with my PC, it goes from a copy speed of within 1 hour 20 minutes for the bulk of the movies, to over 4 hours with some movies. And let me tell you, 4 hours hearing your drive working is just not fun

Please do not do any compression from the disc, rip to hdd first with no compression and then compress the file again with Fab to the size you want, this saves wear and tear on your drive.

I was having the same problem with Ironman2 when copying main movie only with no compression to HD using v8.0.1.7 and even v8.0.2.4 it was taking an hour to scan which was normally 5/10 min and 4/5 hrs to copy to HD which was normally about 1hr 20min...because of the newer protection on the disc...I then tried v7.0.8.2 and it worked fine...I then used v8.0.2.4 to compress to dvd9 iso and the back-up worked perfectly.

As Fengtao has stated, they spent more on copy protection than they did on the quality of the picture and movie.

I think he was actually referring to the DVD version, which has a very low bitrate.
