Should CPU Be 100% when using all software en/decoding?

Playing with converting BR50 to DVD5

Using 100% software, with the source ISO image on E:, and destination of C: (Physically different drivers)

Currently getting 37 FPS, and very little CPU usage.

Was expecting 100% CPU usage; but get anywhere from 20% to 50% max and maxing at about 10Meg/sec in read/write

Don't think its Disk I/O, as I'm I'm able to run Crystal Disk Mark against both drives (I/O Jumps up to about 120/Meg Sec while testing)

Whats really strange, is that while running Crystal mark, my frame rate actually goes up about 5 frames/sec over the time.

Its almost like its a DvdFab software issue of some sort

Anyone else seen anything similar, and if so, any work arounds?

    Thanks

    Wal

I see this with v8.1.1.2 also. I think there is a problem with this release, try v8.0.7.3 if you have it.

      Hi Signals

I might have a older copy on another machine (not really sure as I haven't been really using DVD fab until lately)

As long as it aint me, then I guess I'm ok. Was like augh.. brand new machine and 25% cpu.. Was wondering what setting I'd messed up.. lol

Thanks for the confirmation that it aint me (guess I have to revert my bios settings back as most likely the changes I made will make it me :-)

        A bit better using 8.0.7.3

k, Yanked a older copy down

A bit Better initially.. actually now even better ;-)

Around 68 FPS, 50-95% CPU (seems around 80-90% on average) Disk read 11.5M/sec Write: 3M/Sec. Expected conversion around 40 minutes based on estimates

        Better than before.

        Thanks for the info

Try the new v8.1.1.5 Beta, it fixed all these problems for me.
