Problem using Merge From HD-Please Help!

I backed up a G. Carlin DVD onto my HD (in the dvdfab temp file) last week and placed another Carlin title in a similar file today so I could make a MERGE and have that DVD ready to play on Christmas. Once the 2nd title was on the HD, I opened Fab/Merge and the File Will Not Open. I highlighted the Video TS file (audio empty as usual) and when I click on OPEN, nothing is recognized. I don't know the type of file, but Fab made it, so I suspect it is an ISO. In any case, neither of the files will open, so I can't start the back-up process. I really wanted to have this ready on Christmas for a family comedy show tomorrow evening. How can this be corrected?? I tried to drag and drop too, It dragged, but wouldn't drop.... Just added- The files in the Temp Folders after FAB read them are .VOB (main ones) BUP, IFO.

Not related but as an aside, both the latest Fab updates won't open. When I click on the URL for the update the screen "flashes" like it went to the new window, but in that "blink of an eye" moment it reverts back to the page w/o the download box. It has never done that before. I did renew my lic and it appears to me that it doesn't recognize me (is that what happens when someone tries to update w/o a lic (key)? It shows Never Expires on the lic. page. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance

I don't have the log for the 1st DVD, It was done a week ago and since deleted. But it won't open the current one anyway. I just played both on the PC and they look good. I suppose I could copy them to a CD (8 of them) but would be a waste-

Sorry I am not seeing the problem in the logs.

If these are VOB files as you stated you can not burn them to a cd unless you convert to another format.

I was just jabbering while waiting to find out why the video files will not be accepted by Fab's merge function. This was a problem I encountered a while back and was not resolved. I hoped that whatever was wrong may have been corrected via an update along the way. Just my luck- None
Thanks just the same. Have a Merry Christmas!

A Thought- The 1st time I purchased the Fab program there was a 20% discount (standard) and that may explain the on/off problem with "DL Media must be used"- The penalty for taking the discount. The current reductions, at least 25% till 12/31, explains the Merge function (for me, for example, you may temporarily lose region code removal or very slow write to temp. file times.) when you need it right away. But my current inability to download ver. updates is taking it a bit far. I can download versions up to 8.0.6.1- none after that. Later I guess it will update 25% of the time to balance it out on the $ side. Probably will only be available bt. 12am and 6am though. Oh well..

You need to open the files different ways if they are in VIDEO_TS folders or are ISOs. Use the Source folder icon to open the folder, and the one just to the right of it to open ISOs. Sounds like the download is being blocked by your antivirus/security software or possibly your browser if it has built-in security or website blocking. The downloads are available to all, licensed or not so that prospective customers can use the 30-day trial.

Try opening the Carlin files in Customize mode and see if DVDFab will read them. If it does, then Merge mode should also.

Yes, I see what you mean now. I was opening the source folder using the same icon that I did when backing up the original material. That corrected the problem and I should have recognized it faster. It is working now-Thank You.
In terms of the update download, I thought that it may be blocking, but this would be the 1st time that did not simply display a warning bar asking if I wish to continue. No such warning is given, it just "bounces" back to the page with the URL for the update w/o a download choice window (IE save, run or cancel) All other program updates are permitted, including Fab's, (But just to 8.0.6.1) The latest two are not being shown. More than a block, it acts like it is not permitted, doesn't appear to an anti-virus action, but one from the provider (Fab). I say that only because of the way it occurs. I tried loading it from the links on this forum, CDFreaks Fab forum as well as the DVDFab home site. If it continues for 48 hrs more I will post it on this thread. If it downloads in the meantime, I will post that as well.
Merry Christmas to you and to everyone who happens to read this.

                  Found Workaround

It is not the proper solution, but I can get the download window to appear now. I Exit Explorer and open Firefox. When using that browser the program application appears. Does knowing that allow for a possible solution?
Firefox doesn't allow a direct download, but stores it in a file for manual load.

                    Hi, dan633

                    1. Open DVDFab select "Merge".
                    1. Please select first DVD folder or ISO and select titles to open it using DVDFab.
                    2. Select second DVD folder or ISO and select titles you will merge.
                    3. Click "next ", then you will see the two movies on main window.
                    4. Then start.

                    Thanks.
