    Salt Error Log

This is my first post so please excuse me if I was to post in a new thread for the same movie issue or if I post the wrong log, etc.

I am also having a problem with Salt since the update. This is what is showing in my log. It keeps hanging at the halfway point.

    Hi lanie3261,

Please upgrade to DVDFab 8.0.6.4 Beta at

to copy and see the result.

Please as well check the quality of the original disc, thanks. Maybe you got a bad disc with dirty/scratched, go clean it firstly before you copy, and if it doesn't help - return it for exchange.

    Regards,

    mona

      SALT - Read Error

Someone recommended this program to me, so I thought I would try it. I've spent the last hour going through the help files and reviewing this forum but make no headway. I have a DVD carousel and would like to leave my original DVDs in their jacket and load the copy into the carousel. I have about 280 some movies and the very first one I grab, Salt, gives me an error.

I have the regular DVD, not blue-ray. I am using the latest download with 30 days still available. I even tried going back to the beta you mentioned above. Still the same error. I have gone through the settings people have recommended, but those settings are not in this version that I can see.

I installed the program with the generic settings. I put my Salt DVD in the drive and the program starting reading. About what appeared to be halfway through, a box popped up titled "Reading/Writing Error Control", and said "Error while reading. Please choose what to do?" I have the options to Retry, Abort, Ignore, Ignore All. Does this mean your program can't back up this DVD?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, Service Pack 2. I have plenty of memory and around 80GB free on my harddrive. My DVD drive plays movies and CDs without error. If I can get this to work like it says it will, this is a program I will want to have! As I it stands right now, I can't say I'm too impressed. Thanks for your help!

          Hi, Topsail

          1. Please try to back other dvd movies to verify whether DVDfab works fine.
          2. If success, try to post more info about "Salt" info like CBR said.

          Thanks.

Wow, you guys are fast! Thank you!

CBR, thank you for noticing how new I am and posting the location of those log files! I would have been hunting for quite a while if you had not.
Katie, thank you for the tip. I did try another movie, Despicable Me, very cute animated movie! It worked as promised. I entered a blank line between the two movies to make it easier to see where Salt stopped. The first thing that jumped out at me was the 1m for Salt and 6m for the other, but then I have no idea what I'm looking at. hahaha Any help is greatly appreciated!

Since all 3 logs had a lot of info from all the attempts I've been trying, I reset them all to no data. After trying to run Salt again, the only log file that had an entry was the internal log. If the answer is to turn off pathplayer, could you please tell me how. I can not find it in any of the settings area.

Hijacked is a very strong word and most assuredly not intentional! This is about the movie Salt. The other information was for comparison. I'm new here so if I've done something wrong, I apologize. But I don't see what I've done wrong. It would help if you gave more information on why it's wrong when the Salt movie is shown in the data. I am trying to find out how to copy my Salt movie, nothing more.

Topsail: He just means that when a person starts their own thread, it's technically their thread for help and no one elses, that way everyone gets the help they want without having to sort through a bunch of different problems from different people. Also because even if the threads original posters problem appears similar to yours, it won't be most of the time. It's not that big a deal, you're new so I'm sure they will cut you some slack, he was just trying to inform you, not yell at you or anything. Hope this helps, and maybe you can ask Signals to move your post to its own thread if you want.
