Subtitle Problems starting with 8.0.6.5

After upgrading to 8.0.6.5 and the subsequent versions, all the backup copys have HUGE SIZE subtitles that cover a good part of the bottom screen.

I can disable subtitles with no problem, but it doesn't really help much when you try to watch a movie with the rest of the household asleep.

I absolutely didn't change any settings on Dvdfab or my Dvd player

Any help is appreciated.

You need to provide more information on what process you are using as the subs are held in graphical format and Fab does not change these.

What I suspect you are doing is a BR->DVD copy and the subs are retained at BR resolution, hence the large size.

Can you confirm this?

I checked one that I backed up yesterday: Takers. The subs are ugly and poorly positioned way up in the video, maybe this is what you are seeing. I fixed my backup with DVDSubEdit, a free program. I have attached two captures so you can see if this is what you are seeing and see if you think the rework is any better. I found it less annoying. As Greg said, DVD Copy does not change any subtitle characteristics.

I'm guessing that what signals meant by "software player" is one of those players on your PC like Windows Media Player, VLC, RealPlayer, and a whole bunch others, you know, the ones people use to watch movies on their computers...

This would allow you to watch the movie on your PC, pause a scene with subtitles, take a screen shot(copy) of the screen by holding down Alt+PrtScn (or Alt+SysRq), then pasting it into Microsoft Paint(Windows Key+R, then type "mspaint" into the "run" box, without the quotes). Finally, post the screen shot(.jpg of it) here in this thread.

many years ago, when I was young and stayed up late, in order to not disturb my family with loud TV, I bought myself a pair of headphones, problem solved (just kidding).
