dvd fab stopped working due to ????

logged onto dvdfab and got message"dvd fab is the all in one software package for copying....has stopped working. a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Of course I went straight to home and downloaded new 8.0.8.2. Same message. Anyone else having this problem? If not, what is the matter with mine?
    Thnx for any help

      What OS are you using?
      What anti-virus are you using?
Did you install and run as Admin?

      Need more information .
There must be a common link so need detailed information to find it.

It is working for me with XP pro and Avira .
That is why I was wondering what the first two poster were using.

With the lack of useful information not much can be done to figure out the problem.

This seems to be a reoccurring problem for a few members for the past few releases.
For most it was the anti virus causing the problem.
I can't find the thread/post now but I think bitdefender was a problem for some.

It would be nice for the other poster to return and post his OS and anti virus.

                  From a thread/post last December.....
                  ***************************************

                  Hi,
I don't think it has to do with the Patin-Couffin - as I use the VSO-proggies and no blocking in Bitdefender.
I found that BitDefenders "Active Virus Control (AVC)" messes up with DVDfab.

Link to the thread with several references to bitdefender being the problem due to compatibility issues with dvdfab.

let me get this right. If I go exclude applications on bit defender and placedvdfab.exe as an exception, then this should take care of the problem? My ? is why is it happening now and has not had any effect in the years past? Will fab figure out a solution for this problem?
                      thankx

Since you did not use DVDFab for so long you was unaware of the update BitDefender released that caused problems. Hard to say what problem is but have you tried right clicking the desktop icon and select run as administrator

                          Latest version

Not sure some are understanding what one of your posters is trying to explain. It hasn't been years since he's used DVDFab...he's saying he's been using it for years. As well as I have too. I've changed nothing on my computer, everything is the same as it has ever been with earlier versions of Fab. However this new version that just came out 8.0.8.2 will install but when you try to bring it up it won't let you on my XP with McAfee. I uninstalled the new version on my XP and reinstalled the previous version before this one and it worked fine, tried updating to the newest again and same problem. I hope this explains what problem some of us are having.
