It’s pointing toward hardware for sure, but I don’t think we can definitively say that it is hardware until you make the working drive the primary drive in the computer that doesn’t work. If it boots from the working drive and still won’t run its hardware, if it does run it’s a software conflict.

You might try installing from the working machine to a USB thumb drive and see if it works?
I tried the HDD swap and it would not open on this computer. I tried installing it to a flash drive from another computer and it would not open on this computer. I used the flash drive in another computer and it would open in trial mode just like you said.

Now, I'm wondering why on this rig, it will not work. The other rig has the same exact hardware, bios, firmware and windows version.
The only difference is that this rig is made by Alienware and came with XPsp1 and has been upgraded to sp2 and then sp3. The rig that it works on is a duplicate that I built years ago and I put a retail version of XPsp2 that has been updated to sp3.

Just wondering if it has to do with how the updates were applied or maybe the order that they were installed in.(If that is even the case)

I can try that but wouldn't essentially be the same as copying it to my second drive thats in this rig already and trying to run it from there? I would think that it would still look to the c:\ drive for other files and reg entries. If the reg entries are not created properly in the c:\ drive then I wouldn't think it would run anyway. It's worth a try, sure can't hurt anything. This will give me something to do later today.

Just wanted to try something so I installed QT8092 on this XPsp3 rig that it still does not work on.

I then went to my test rig that has XPsp3 that QT8092 does work on and copied the whole DVDFAB QT8 folder over to a flash drive. I moved and replaced the whole folder on this rig that QT8092 doesn't work on and I rebooted the system.

Well, it's still a no go. Just wondering if, in the install process, something is not being inserted into the registry properly. I keep hoping to stumble upon something or maybe the Service team can get some idea's from all these different things we have been trying.

My DVDFabQT comes up with normal(not compatibility) mode at Windows safe mode.
    Kim152 & Mem,

Compatibilty mode does not work for me and neither does installing it in compatibility mode. Running in Safe mode or Installing in Safe mode is a no go as well. It just will not come up for me.

Mine will run in safe mode , vga mode or normal but have to play with compatibility settings to make it. But some of the compatibility settings will put it in single or daul core mode so i have to go in every time I start and priority and affinity for my 6 core cpu. But it only will use 4 of the cores on my 1090T even when set for 6 core.

It is related even though fab team does not look at that, And it does not have to do with graphic drives or cards (Have tried with nvidia and ati cards and different drivers and still the same). Also what version xp mine is xp pro sp3 with mce2005 in it? And I can put a 4 core back in anytime and all is fine.
This is an older computer with XP Pro SP3. It has an Intel P4 3.4 EE processor,SB Audigy2 ZS sound card, 3 gigs Corsair memory, Nvidia 7800GSOC(upgraded from a Nvidia Geforce 5950 Ultra), Asus P4C800E Deluxe motherboard, one Seagate 160gb and one 500gb barracuda Hdd, one Plextor 708A cd/dvd drive, one Plextor 716A cd/dvd drive and a 650wt power supply.(upgraded from a 450wt when it bit the dust)

And any version past 8.4 does it on mine. Have to play with compatibly setting to get to run. Have talked with Sunny and sent plenty of crashes in. Started with just high end 6 core AMD systems, but now with QT is spreading to more xp systems. Has to do with reg setting since blu ray ripper engine was changed to incorporate dvd rips.
I've been trying things that Sunny has wanted me to try as well but have not had any success as of yet. I don't have any crash reports because it never starts. The only QT version that works is QT8087beta but it acts really strange with it. No QT works for me before 8087 or after it. The non QT version of 8085 works like a charm.
