Yes, I always save to disk and scan before I install anything. The first install was a clean install, the rest were install overs. I have not tried the "Run as Admin" on Xp, havent had to.I'm the only Admin and login on this rig. I do on my Win 7 rigs though. I'll try your suggestion and post back soon. Thanks!!
    CBR929,
I did what you suggested by the letter but still the same issue. QT8087 installs but no QT version after that will install. They either hang and wont finish installing or they finish installing but won't open. I also get this error at times.

DVDFAB.EXE Application Error. The instruction at"0x00000000 the memory could not be read click ok to terminate the program. Then the install completes (or the uninstall) and then I have to kill it in the Task manager.

Are you installing over the top of the previous version or are you installing them separately???
Also when installing the installer for Fab
I always do this for all my programs, instead of clicking run I click save then open the folder and right click and install the programs as administrator, be sure to do this.

If you can get a version running and you are installing over the top of the previous one try this from one of my previous posts:
Change what is in Blue on the install screens

During install when the screen comes up for destination folder I put C:\Program Files\DVDFab 8073 and start menu folder I put DVDFab 8073, I change the blue from DVD Fab8, and add 073 after the 8, which will allow me to have more than one version installed, right now I have 5 versions of 8 installed and running, it will not put 2 icons on your desktop but, click start on your desktop, all programs scroll to DVD Fab and it will be there.

Hey, no problem. Yes it is strange, working on it though..

Ok, this is what I've done thus far today on my other XP sp3 rig.
1.uninstalled DVD Fab 8085 and rebooted.
2.Ran CCleaner and removed entries for DvdFab and rebooted.
3.Deleted DvdFab folder from My Documents and from Program files on the C; drive.
4.Deleted Prefetch files for DVD Fab and rebooted.
5.Manually searched the registry and found a lot of entries for Dvd Fab and I deleted every one that I found and rebooted.
    6. Re ran CCleaner and researched the registry and found no more things relating to Dvd Fab.
7.Installed QT 8092 but with the same issues as before.(Won't complete install).
    8. Opened task manager and killed DVDFab.exe. Then the install completed but the program will not open.
    9. Opened task manager again and killed DVDFab.exe again.

This is where it gets strange. I started downgrading QT8092 to QT8091etc,etc, having the same issue until I got to QT 8087. It completed the install and would run. Then I tried upgrading up one version and it would fail to run again.

    Still working on it though.

You seem to know your way around computers and I hate to ask but, do you do weekly maintenance on all your rigs eg. Defragment Your Disk Drive and use scan disk on your HDD.
Also are all or any video cards have their most recent drivers.
    CBR929
I don't mind you asking at all CBR929. Yes Sir, I have a slew of computers that I maintain every week or two with all that maintenance fun. I keep the drivers and software up-to-date as well. That's more of a full time job then the one I get paid for doing, lol. I've been building and working on them since the early nineties.

This issue is stumping me for the moment but I will find it and correct it. I will post what I do that fixes the (My) problem as soon as I can narrow it down.
    Thanks!!

Installed SP3 and all updates and QT8092 is now running on my test rig. Don't know what the issue was before but it's running now. Now on to my other XP sp3 rigs.

Make sure you download CCEnhance because CCleaner doen't remove all. Thats why they came out with cthe CCenhance add on.
As a side note, Piriform (makers of ccleaner) does not endorse or support ccenhancer. Use at your own risk.

I had a major problem with 8.0.9.2 QT I couldn't get it to load and run on my main system which I use only for DVDFab applications. My main system was Windows XP Pro SP3 and I thought it was strange. So I went to my second machine same O/S and it installed and ran no problems. I went to my 3rd machine same O/S and it installed and ran as well? I had old version of DVFFab starting from V5 up to V8 and it looked like my register had old settings that I couldn't remove from it. I had directories that DVDFab didn't remove after uninstalling older versions and it left files in them. SO after trying to clean out my register with no luck. I did a clean install of the O?S on my DVDFab machine installed the new version and it ran no problems? So strange if you ask me.

Also the hardware was the same on the 3 systems so it wasn't a hardware issue.

I have XP with SP3 with all current updates and I am running v8092 Qt without any problems.
