Freezing with Pixellation

I've been backing up with DVDFab for years (always with latest version), then burning with ImgBurn.
Occasionally I get a copy which will freeze and pixellate. This usually happens 1/2 to 3/4 through the movie, however it can even happen close to the start.
Has anyone seen this happen before and knows how to fix it?

My rig is:-
M/B Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P
CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965
RAM 4GB DDR3 10700
DVD Burner Optiarc AD-7240S

I always unplug the computer from the modem, and turn off all programs including anti-virus, etc when ripping and burning.
I always burn at 4x onto Taiyo Yuden discs rated at 16x.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry.
I upgraded my computer since the first post and the problem seemed to go away. But it is definitely still occurring, and with backups of bought DVDs (not just converted avi files).

Sorry but these logs do not help please post an actual completed burn log and also internal log.

The logs we need are the ones from the bad burns, the ones you posted do not even show a burn process. If you are using ImgBurn, post those logs and the DVDFab internal logs from one of the bad burns. Are you playing these back on your PC or on a standalone DVD player?

I would just add that there is no good reason to burn a TY 16x blank at 4x. I would, and do burn them at 12x with no issue at all. Too slow can be as bad as too fast.

Also many of the burns I do, I don't watch for days or weeks, so it would be difficult to find the correct log. Is there an easy way to find out the quality of the burn without watching it in real time?

Are these the logs I should have posted?


I'll raise my burn speed next time (try 8x instead of 4x for a start).
Also, because the problem appears to be intermittent, I don't really want to verify every burn unless everyone thinks that's a good idea.

I've Watched both.
