Problems with Finished DVDs, using dvd shrink&imgburn

I'm currently using the free version of DVDfab dvd copy in conjunction with dvd shrink and imgburn.

I copy the dvds with dvd copy, if duel layer discs I copy with the highest possible quality setting of dvd 9. I put the finished file through dvd shrink to create an iso file and get it to fit on a single layer disc, and then I use ImgBurn to put the iso file onto a single layer disc.

Most of the time this works fine, but on several of my movies, such as the Warrior's Way and Burn Notice Season 3, Disc 4, I run into a problem; when watching the main movie suddenly it starts skipping and pixelating(the image on the tv seems to break apart and fracture into squares while skipping). This doesn't happen when i play the finished disc on my laptop, it just happens occasionally when I am playing the disc on my dvd player. I've exhausted all searches I can think of through google and so far I have no idea what's going on.

You haven't included enough hard information for us to form any idea of what's happening.

At the very least, please post (Copy & Paste) the Imgburn logs for the two problem burns - it'll give us a starting point to figure out what's going on.

P.S. The use of different programs to rip and write a more or less recent film is almost a recipe for problems, as newer films have an unusual structure (copy protection), and DVDShrink can't handle some of these, as well as the fact that the freebie version of DVDFab is at least two-three months out-of-date as far as current protection updates are concerned.

Okay I tried to post one log for a movie that didn't burn well, and it exceeded my reply space of 13000 characters. I tried to attach a word document with the information for just one log, and the manage attachments program gave me an error that said 'invalid file.' How do I post the logs here? This is my first post on these forums.

Okay, coffee is now in full effect and my silly blond rear has isolated the imgburn log for Alice in Wonderland, which when played in my dvd player started glitching not halfway into the movie.

Hi PhoenixGate
First off we will talk about your media, it is some of the worst media to use for backing up your movies.
I suggest you use either Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim with the "AZO Dye" on the package.
Next if you want to try again with the media you are using I suggest you set up the AWS in ImgBurn , you will find instructions in the link in my signature, and set your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of the discs you are using.

You seem to be making the copy with DVDShrink and/or MagicISO, and possibly DVDFab. There is not really much we can do to help you with so many different applications involved, the error could be introduced in any of them. But I also suspect it is your blank media.

I'll try a different blank media and see if that does it. I do have one more question;

I noticed on several setup guides that i have found online that DVD copy should be set to have an output type of DVD folder instead of DVD writer. What is the difference between these two?

Set the output type as DVD folder, you will copy the source movie to your hard drive. Convert / compress/ burn from the hard drive will help save wear and tear on your Optical Drive;

Choose DVD Writer, your Target will be burner, you will copy and burn directly to the blank media.

Note: Compression/ Burn to the blank is not available when using the free version.

So I tried a different media to burn the copies of my dvds, and it seems to have fixed the problem. I even took Iso files from ones that didn't burn well on the memorex discs and they came out just fine on TDK. Thank you to everyone who replied.
