    Hi FOL
Yes, I am not one of the developers.
You can find older versions of Fab in the link in my signature, but not Betas.

Your posts are not being ignored.
Your post 17 shows that you are receiving a transcoder error 400, which can be a multitude of things.
Post your logs for your most recent tries and is this also a music or concert DVD you are trying to back up.

I am trying to back up any retail DVD and it won't do it. I tried a Wonderful World of Disney DVD and the new movie Priest. All I get is the "Changing Hybrid Layer" message.

When I try a Verbatim DVD+R that I've backed up, like with the movie Paul, it opens up flawlessly. Retail DVD? Nothing. I also tried Entourage Season 3 Disc 1. Still got the "Changing Hybrid Layer" message. It just sits there and tries to open and NOTHING happens.

I have all DVDFab items checkmarked in my DEP. I'm getting the same issue on my laptop with Windows 7 as I am on my desktop with XP.

As I said, I'm going to try to mess around with some older versions of Qt, but if this doesn't work, I'm probably going to have to jump ship to another program because of the lack of support from the devs on this.

You getting same as me, with said discs, just gives Qt translator loaded and thats it?

I'm sorry that we still have not nailed this down.
If you install and older version that is not QT, when installing a QT version it will not install over the non QT version, you will have 2 versions of Fab installed.
Sorry poor choice of words. I ment installed not installed over.

One thing I am not sure if we talked about, is your video card driver up to date?
Yes using latest Nvidia drivers, I even tried older versions.

I disagree, I think Qt is making it very unstable and flakey (Just look at all the issues on the forums, the devs have just given up comming here).
Bet if you ask every single person having problems to install V6, it will work flawless.

Open Fab click the ? click about, what does it say under the options you have purchased.

Yes it is, I paid for DVD Copy and DVD Ripper way back when. I have been using DVDFab since version 4 if I recall.
    Both say Registered to me.

Cant edit my last post, so have to start a new one.

First off, lets forget WMP12, as its normal. DVDFab is taking exclusive drive access, which WMP12 doesnt like.

K, uninstalled, reg cleaned, dep emptied and restarted.
Reinstalled 6.2.0.5 and it all works 100% perfect (Everyone has missed the crucial thing in all my logs (or they just want to dismiss it)).

    DVDFab 6.2.0.5 (2011/08/20 15:33:58)

    0m 33.41s: detected dvd
    0m 33.46s: drive F

    0m 43.58s: got udf/iso
    0m 45.58s: got discinfo

Obviously it has issues with the disc I picked, but it shows DVDFab is working at this version.

    At the moment, in DEP it has;

Now, I installed 8112 exactly the same way as I did on my laptop.
I just uninstalled V6 and installed 8112 straight over it (this worked on my laptop).

Right, now as you can see.
The crucial thing people refuse to see. In the log it loads Qt translation file successfully.
Now this is where its failing. When its doing that, I hear my DVD drive spinning up (as if its about to start reading it), it then stops.

I find it amazing people swan in on this thread still shouting its our systems, yet not one person from DVDFab as replied.
I think they know they have issues with the Qt engine and they are taking the attitude, "crap we cant go back now. Lets ignore everyone who has an issue".

The reason I was asking about WMP12, is that it stops working correctly after trying to run Fab, so there still may be some sort of conflict with it.

I also noticed in your logs that you have changed your drive region 2 times, are the disc's also region 2 disc's.

    I agree.

    Right,

In my PC DEP, I have 20 x "DVDFab is the all in one software package for copying Blu-Ray/DVD and converting video file." and nothing else.
My laptop however has the same as you.

Removing DVFab, delete reg entries and dep settings for it, and basically installing from scratch does same thing, it only adds "DVDFab - The ultimate DVD copying/converting/burning software!" 20x.

Im sorry, going down the route of its my software or whats installed, is not helping. I REMOVED everything from my PC, so the uninstall menu was empty, I cleaned reg, I disabled loads of windows services and norton. How much more do I have to do. I even tried a clean install of windows on its own, still the same.

You still aint explained to me why all versions of 6 work 100% flawless.
So again how can it be my my PC. (Not aimed at CBR929)

Hmmmm, wonder what would happen if I installed 6 cleanly and then installed 8112, like I did on my laptop, maybe that will solve 8112 install not adding correct dep entries?

On my drive front, I have never changed region. I noticed it says I have, but I havent.
    I always use region 2.

WMP12 breaking after running DVDFab, I cant see why this is a WMP problem.
It just tells me DVDFab has stolen full access to drive and is telling WMP to sod off.
As soon as I close DVDFab, WMP12 seems to function correctly.

This doesn't explain why the program opens DVD+Rs but not standard store bought retail movies.

I have everything checked under DEP and it's still not working. I still can't get my desktop with XP to run it or my laptop with Windows 7 to run it. I only have one drive per PC.

If I can't get this to run right tonight, then I'm going to give up and seek alternate methods. This is ridiculous. I'm going to try some earlier versions of Qt and use a third computer and see if those run right. I'll report back with my findings.

I have noticed one thing, my DEP on my laptop is different for DVDFab.
Can you list what is supposed to be under DEP.

Its nothing to do with WMP12, remember DVDFab breaks WMP12, not the other way round.

    I have 2 drives:

When I put the dvd in the HP drive I would get that Hybrid goofy message.
So I shutdown DVDFAB and tried it with a competitor software. NO GO. Could not read it.
I shut down that software. I started DVDFAB and placed the dvd in the LG drive. BINGO!
    Works.
Could be a firmware/software issue with the drive?
    HOPE THIS HELPS.

This software has a free trial period for all to try and test. This program has been around for years and has been very sucessful in the community. All computers are not created equal. For those that are having problems I suggest looking into upper and lower filter issues and incompatible software that has been or is still installed on the computer.

Right, checked it, it had about 20 "DVDFab to mobile converter entries".
However it still doesnt work, so I uninstalled, cleaned reg completely and removed all entries in DEP.

Restarted, then reinstalled 8112 as admin, then ran it as admin.
    Still same issue, nothing changed.

I have noticed one thing, my DEP on my laptop is different for DVDFab.

I think we are barking up the wrong tree, but what else we got, the devs dont care.

With my laptop, I just uninstalled V6 and then installed 8112Qt without messing with anything.

Plus its definately not anything on my computer, as I ended up uninstalling everything from my system.
This included drivers, etc etc. Still DVDFab refused to read disc's.
Its nothing to do with WMP12, remember DVDFab breaks WMP12, not the other way round.
