I am having similar problems as the others

I have read through all of the comments before I prepared these. I have tried all of the suggestions of the others before I bothered to contact you all because I did not want to waste your time, but I have been unable to fix this problem. I can't figure out the origin of the problem either, because the application has worked flawlessly up to this point. First here is the error message from the screen, I am trying to back up my DVD "Unthinkable" (2010). The error message reads "Unthinkable Changing Hybrid Disc Layer Type". At this point, it hangs up and just spins it wheels. It does not move to the next step of evaluating and then recommending the next step.
      The log says:

The same thing happened with another DVD by Paul Mooney, but it was also very scratched, so I did not want to use that as an example.
Please make recommendations, so that I can get this up and running again. You have a fine product, I have really never had any major issues with the software until now.

          LMFAO!!!, priceless, .

Against my better judgement, I am rwrecking another install, .
I installed 6 different versions, all of them do a simular thing.

Some wont see my drive, while the others do. Some atempt to read drive, while others say disc is unreadable.
Im sorry but thats conclusive, its not my machine.

It sounds like a problem with the new hybrid drive support. The earlier versions don't have it, so they work. This does not necessarily mean the problem is with DVDFab. If you have not done so, update the firmware in your drive and turn off autoplay in windows. Set the hybrid disc default type in DVDFab Common Settings to DVD or Blu-ray, or whatever you are trying to copy and put the disc in the drive and give the drive some time to load its correct profile before starting DVDFab. You might also try turning off Preview auto start in Common Settings.

The developers don't answer every thread and it is not realistic to expect them to. They are aware of this problem.

I changed the settings in DVDFab just like you said. Here's what I get now:

Next step is to upgrade my graphics card drivers and also my LG blu-ray burner drivers if I can find them on LG's web site (LG says the drivers or my drive doesn't exist).

I upgraded the drivers for my graphics card: It's still the same message. I'm going to uninstall the program and try to reinstall it again.

EDIT: Reinstalled it, put the Graphics Driver question to "No" (as I've upgraded the drivers), changed all the settings, inserted disc.

Same message as before...."Changing Hybrid Layers." I also get this screen again:

I also put the LG burner drive as the only one to scan in the settings.

I think we know the devs are aware of the Hybrid Layers issue....the question is, are they doing anything about fixing it?

Sounds like your answering nbakid2000's problem.
What about the others with the disc shows up as unknown.

Incase you havent read all the posts, my issues the same with everything I try.
Fresh install of just windows, removing everything off my full install, using older GFX drivers, tried every version since V6, nothing works.

I understand the devs cant answer all threads, but look around the threads they answer. It appears they answer only the ones they think they can solve.
Even if they came in and posted, we will look into it, that would be something instead of just ignoring it.

You assume that because they have not posted in this too-long thread that they are ignoring the problem, which is not true, also that the posts from the QA Team are the developers, which they are not. They are trying to make suggestions to help users that have these drives. Please concern yourself with facts about this problem, not poorly informed speculation on what is or is not being done. I realize this is a frustrating problem, but it will be corrected unless it is something that is endemic to this drive model that would break the feature for other hybrid drives.

Any of you that can't find firmware on LG's USA site, try the one for Europe. I seem to remember that I had to look there for updates on my BE06LU10 which was also in the "super multi blue" series.

No offense, but if this thread is "too-long" that's because the Devs have made software that requires long threads to fix.

My firmware/drivers for my LG WH10LS30 appear to be up to date. The graphics drivers are up to date. Everything in the system you guys said to check is checked (layer type, automatic play OFF, preview window OFF) and I still get the same messages.

EDIT: I just installed the free trial version on a third computer with Windows 7 and it seems to run perfectly.

This leaves me with 2 computers (one Windows 7, one Windows XP) that won't run the program. And no, I can't use the third computer as a regular computer for the software, because it's not mine.

I will try my laptop again and see if anything works.

I understand your frustrations with this issue.
There have been other members having problems with LG drives and Hybrid disc's.

Installing Fab on another computer and it works perfect should be a hint that something is not right on the other, being a setting, software, or hardware related.

I dont have an LG drive.
I have a Samsung DVD-RW drive, Im not interested in BlueRay.
I want to be able to do what I bought DVDFab for and thats convert my movies to PSP format so I can take it with me on business trips to the states.

I also think thats unfair, the Admin was being sarcastic, not the other way round. You cant have an Admin doing what your telling someone else not to do. I would seriously tell my admins if they were sarcastic to any user on my forums.

It doesnt matter now, I have found a better solution which works 100% spot on my system. Given up on DVDFab for good.

So my laptop has an AMD motherboard and ATI GFX card. All other programs work fine on my MSI motherboard and Nvidia GFX card. If DVDFab is so picky, then theres your answer, you cant craft a program to run with one type of hardware in the pc market.
Millions of companies all round the world manage to code for thousands of different hardware in the pc market, why cant DVDFab?

I have a feeling the dev you pm'ed was signals. He isnt a dev though.
This thread is spiralling down the route of evil posting, lots of posts have been deleted some of mine (which were perfectly fine) and some of nbakid2000, I even told someone they were having the same issue as me and pointed them here and that got deleted. Now mods are threatening users when the Admin is being sarcastic to users.

Just wish it was like it was back in december, sunny couldnt do enough to help me solve my converting issue.

With all due respect, who is this aimed at? If it was me, then I don't appreciate it. I made no sarcastic remarks towards a moderator. In fact, he was the one who insulted my thread. All I did was explain why this thread existed or was long in the first place. I'm sensing a lot of hostility from the mods on this forum and I'm not sure why such a thing would exist in the first place.

On a side note, if LG drives are causing issues, why is there not some disclaimer on the site or forum advising users against this? Why are there issues with LG drivers in the first place?

I have purchased a Lite-On drive tonight to hook it to my computer to see if my LG drive is indeed the issue. As I said, I have a desktop and laptop with 2 different drives and the software won't run on any of them.

Turns out, both my laptop and desktop have exactly the same model drives.
So for me the issue is definately not drives.

I am going to go on good faith here and update my graphics drivers and my firmware for the DVD drive on my laptop and see what happens.

I will also hook up the new DVD drive to my desktop to see if that works (based on what the Mods said).
