A Lot of Problems with 8.1.1.5 QT

I have been a very quiet and tolerant user. In the past, whenever I encountered a problem from a current release, I just went back to 7 or 8 and solved my problems created by a current release.

However, this particular Beta is plagued with more problems than I can tolerate or remain silent. I can now understand and relate the frustrations being encountered by many other members. More than 50% of the DVDs I put in got rejected after a brief reading. The new Preview is also extremely buggy, forcing my system to shut down many times, if not pre-viewable, and in some instances, I had to reintsall from scratch in order to open the program. This never happened before.

Fengtao, it's time to consider building a new program from scratch if you insist on combining Window and Mac in one QT program, instead of fixing here and there endlessly. The current program may look like a big tree, making it impossible to fix persistent problems with minor or constant trimming of diffident branches.

Get a new team of engineers, using a new approach insulated and free from the current program and problems. In so doing, the results may be healthier and perhaps even faster. Android and Apple are living examples. Give us a NEW DVDFab, not one that is constantly plagued with various problems.

Otherwise, there is nothing wrong to have a non-QT version that is reliable and stable with minimal maintenance, while pursuing or perfecting the QT version, if that is achievable.

    Please respond. Thanks,

Definitely a noticeable improvement over its predecessor.

I just tested the same DVD that got rejected or otherwise shutting down my system yesterday, the current version works fine except with one minor problem.

When I tried to preview a Menu of a Full Disc, the program, not my system, disappeared. I filled out the Report and sent it. I had to and was able to re-start the program and finished the testing--without testing the preview again.

In addition, the old preview, albeit slow, had one advantage over the new, i.e., when you clicked on a different clip, it automatically turned off the previous clip and played the new one selected. This new version requires stopping one being played first before clicking on the next. It will not automatically stop the current one and play the new just selected. You must manually STOP the current one first before playing a new clip.

This is a very minor inconvenience. However, if DVDFab can improve this minor inconvenience to conform to the industry standard without too much trouble, why not make it better?

Again, with many thanks for the ongoing efforts,

The Preview module was completely new in v8.1.1.2 or 8.1.1.5, so it is still being fine tuned. The automatic stop and start with a new title selected was in the old version and hopefully can be added to this one also. Neither the old nor new versions of it will play a menu however, only a Title. Sending the crash report gets the info straight to the developers, so they will analyze the information.

Glad that you noticed the same deficiencies as well. It is nice to know someone is working on this making the program better.

Many thanks, again, for your prompt attention,
