8.1.0.0 DVD Fab Won't Burn

I started having this problem before. Wouldn't burn, wanted dual layer got dual layer wouldn't burn. Bought it again because I thought maybe it was out of date. Still won't burn. I've tried regular DVD media and dual layer media .. still won't burn.

Yes it is several versions out of date.

The latest version is 8116.

I bought it from the dvdfab.com site. Since I'm having the same problems as before I bought a new license I don't think updating to a new version will help but I'll try it again.

I updated the program to 8.1.1.2 and I just tried again .. got the same results. When I click Yes on the "Do you want to burn again" box it keeps saying failed. I've attached the logs.

Nobody is using the burner. You should ask him if you can use it.

First you should update your OS from SP2 to SP3.
Next try installing ImgBurn as your burn engine, it is "free" and you will find instructions on setting it up in the link in my signature.

What I do not understand is why I had no problems before and it all of a sudden happens. In doing searches, it seems this is not an isolated issue. Could not DVDFab create a patch or something to resolve this? I bought this software as a stand alone - it seems there is something intrinsically wrong with DVDFab that after a period of time will only work with another unrelated software.

I have dual boot XP/Windows 7. If I install DVDFab on the Windows 7 side of the computer will I still continue to have these problems?

Please refrain from rants and vents, they accomplish nothing toward corrrecting your problem and are not tolerated.

By all means, install DVDFab "As Adminsitrator" on the Win7 side. Fab requires low level access to your drives, anything that interferes with this will cause problems similar to what you have reported. Temporarily disable any other disc burning software, particularly the drag and drop variety. If you have a utility that will let you display and copy the filter drivers for the opticalk drives, please post them. ImgBurn will perform this task under Tools->Filter driver load order. Just click the 'copy to clipboard' button.
