The Speed Of Thought will not open

I am trying to backup The Speed Of Thought, 2011, by Maya Entertainment. I am in Region 1. It will not open, the progress bar is moving continuously, without any results. I also tried v8.1.2.3 Beta which gives me the same results.

I have two other new released dvd titles that worked with no problems.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

What kind of disc is this, a movie or something else? You can try turning off PathPlayer in Common Settings if it is not a regular movie. Make sure the disc is clean, even though it is new. Post the dvdfab_internal.log file for Speed of Thought.

The IMBD board says it is a made for TV, but some of the posters liked it. Budget=$2,000,000=SyFy Channel.

This disc is a regular movie. I have cleaned it, and tried again with v8.1.2.5 Qt, no joy.

How do I obtain a DVD Fab Internal log if the disc does not open. Please is explain if there is a method to do this.

          Thanks again.

There will still be some entries in the log. The file is named dvdfab_internal.log the location varies with OS, just use windows search to find it. The newest entries are at the end of the file.

                  Hi jetman4615
Are you using the free HD Decrypter or paid version of Fab?
Reason for asking is that your logs show that DVD Copy has expired or the registration key did not stick.
If using the paid version, open Fab click the ? click about, what does it say under the options you have purchased.
Please do not post a screen shot.

                    Hello,

I am using HD Decrypter Free. I have been noticing for some time now, when opening dvdfab, after it searches and the next window opens, I get a pop up window that states "DVD Copy is expired, You are going to use HD Decrypter" and I click ok, and the ripping begins. On the welcome to dvdfab screen, the very first program listed is DVD Copy....Trial User.....Enabled "NO"......Expired.
Above this line, there is an option labeled "Update Expire Time" also options for "Enabled" and "Licensee" and "Option"...Selecting any of these options result in no action. It appears that somewhere in the past, I must have clicked on DVD Copy trial. If the expired status is locking me out from the dvd not opening, then the dvd movie in question is the first time this problem has occured. Since I cannot get past this dvd not opening, and any other new movies I tried had no problem, brings me to this Forum. Thanks eveyone for your continued support.

Please let DVDFab try to read the disc, cancelling if necessary. Then access the Info page in Common Settings and click on the Send Info files button.

                        Hi Signals,

I started HD Decrypter with the questionable disk, and allowed the "open dvd source" window to scan the media for five minutes. While it is scanning I tried selecting the green circle check mark, and it would not allow me to enter common settings, so, I then clicked on the cancel button on open dvd source window, and the scan progress bar stop and the window remained on the screen, super imposed over the DVDFAB window. Consequently, this condition prevented any functions to respond. I used the task manager to close the windows and tried again, same results. I guess we have a tough one here. Awaiting any further instructions.......Thanks

If using the free HD Decrypter this disc may not be supported yet for you to copy, but I am not sure.
You can try an older version of Fab by clicking on the link in my signature, try this version
It will install in a different folder so no need to worry about overwriting the version you have now.
                          Hope this helps

Your suggestion to use an old app v8.0.8.5 worked perfectly. I now have a backup that is also perfect. I did notice the welcome screen that lists all the available programs was showing the DVD COPY Gold was never used vs expired in the current program. I would appreciate if someone can explain why I had this problem, and if the expired status was the culprit. It is confusing, because the current program displayed each time a disk was opened,, in a pop up window, that "DVDCOPY expired, You will use HD Decrypter" and clicking ok started the ripping. Except for this disk in question. Knowing the cause can be helpful to the members if they run into this. I am attaching the log. Thanks again to you and others for the support.

                              Hi jetman4615
                              Glad this worked for you.
You will see a never used because it was a non QT version but, if you have not purchased the product and used DVD Copy you have just started the timer and in 30 days your will either have to purchase the product or continue using the free HD Decrypter.
Remember when the 30 day trial is over you will no longer be able to compress or burn to disc, so you must use third party products or purchase the product as stated.
Some of the QT versions have been causing problems for some, this could also have been a problem with Pathplayer but I am not the developer so could not tell you for sure.
