    Disc size showing as Larger than DVD9

    Evangelion: 1.11 You are (Not) Alone
    2 Disc Special Edition (DVD set)

    With the second disk in the drive and DVDFab open, DVD Copy > Full Disc selected, Under Volume Label beside DVD9, it showed the following:

    Quality: 77% (10.142 GB -> 8100 MB

    The Output size selector is working correctly as I did verify this by switching it to DVD5, then back to DVD9 again.

    When set to DVD5, it showed the following:

    Quality: 42% (10.142 GB -> 4450 MB

    I have two DVD burners in my system with one of them being a Blue Ray Combo drive. No matter which drive I try this disc in, I get the same results.

    Also, when I try to make a backup of the disc, it always stops at 8% Task Time Elapsed 00:00:08 (same for both drives)

    I made sure the disc is clean and even completely resurfaced the disc with a motorized SkipDr and a fresh repair wheel to make sure the surface is free from any defects.

    PathPlayer is disabled.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    In the settings, PathPlayer is set to the Default setting of "Always Enable PathPlayer"

    Now what I'm wondering is this.....

    Is this a problem with the disc or possibly DVDFab itself?

    Or do I need a newer drive such as one which supports Hybrid disks and other new features?

    If a new drive is suggested, what would be a good Blue-ray burner to get which would support the features I would need for backing up disks to hard drive or vise versa?

    I think this is a protection removal issue, possibly a fake VTS not being removed effectively. Please post the internal log.

        Just in case this may be of any help, around the outside edge of the disc is this:

        ©Khara. Licensed by FUNimation® Productions, Ltd. All Rights Reserved. DV-09882B 1 NTSC

        The same is on Disc 1 with the exception of the DV- number which ends with an "A" instead of a "B"

        Also, opposite the barcode around the spindle hole on the disc I'm having trouble with is this:

        (396637) FN-09882BR1

          Try with pathplayer enabled, you have it disabled

            If you read my post and also the Log file, "I have PathPlayer ENABLED"

            From the Log file:
            0m 51.95s: pathplayer enabled
            0m 57.73s: no main title, turn off pathplayer
            0m 59.64s: got dvdinfo
            0m 01.72s: opened dvd
            In other words, the program itself disabled PathPlayer, so I had nothing to do with it.

            Not only did I try DVDFab, but I tried an older program which I used to use and I ran into the same problem. The program I used was DVD Decrypter which for the longest time used to be one of the best programs out there.

            Also, in case you failed to notice, signals, who is the Administraor replied with what he felt the problem is and requested the information from the Log file which I provided for him.

            I'm fairly sure that between the log file, the DVD title and other information I was able to provide on the DVD, that support is looking into the problem and either I'll hear back from them later or a fix will be provided or both.

            Then again, with all the various posts in these forums, I'm sure they have a multitude of problems they are working on finding the solutions to so they can fix them. After all, no software program is perfect.
