Trying to make a backup of this disk, but it just goes to through the initial scan & never stops. At first, the activity light on the drive will flash, but after a few cycles of the progress bar, it'll quit. Then a few moments after that, it'll start progressively gobbling up CPU time. Same results w/ both of the drives in my PC. Any ideas?

Hi Madness
Something to try is to disable Path Player, to do this Open Fab Click the Green √ top right > Protection > Path Player click Disable Path Player click OK restart Fab and try again, just remember to set it back to Always Enabled.
Also without a burn log I have no way of knowing if your drive may be in PIO mode, so you can try resetting DMA, to do this
Open Fab Click the Green √ top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.
Clean the disc also no matter how it looks.
Hope this helps

Pathplayer will turn itself off if DVDFab senses it is caught in an endless loop. It will probably require an update to decrypt the disc. You can try turning it off manually and then copying only the movie (Main Movie mode).Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Did you wait long enough? I used to assume something was amiss backing up certain titles when the drive stopped spinning and the progress bar kept going and going. Then I realized pathplayer will eventually cancel out if it can't figure things out, and I learned to just go do something else and come back - sometimes DVDFab using pathplayer does take quite a while. For example, main movie only, Region A, "Get The Gringo" took a good 5 minutes.
