DVDFab not recognizing DVDs

Hello,

I have DVDFab 8185Qt that I downloaded today and it doesn't recognize that there is a DVD in one of my two DVD R/Ws.

As you can see from the log files, it recognizes the DVD drive, but not that there is a disk in it.

Additionally, DVDFab will not exit memory, task manager shows it as still running. When I try to kill the process, it doesn't go away until I restart my computer, but my computer won't restart unless I shut it off manually by pressing and holding the power button.

I am using a Toshiba laptop with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Update

Actually DVDFab has stopped detecting media in either of my two burners.

I am moving your thread to the DVD Copy forum to make sure the developers see it. You may have conflicting software. Please open ImgBurn with no discs in either drive (and DVDFab closed) and from the menu panel select Tools->Filter Driver load order and click the Copy to Clipboard button, then paste into a post here. Please also update to v8.1.8.7 first.

//EDIT// Just noticed you are using a Toshiba laptop. This problem was widespread a few months ago on certain models. Try the forum advanced search tool to see if you can dig up some of the threads, there were some solutions posted.

Already did that. It is in the uploaded file called log.txt

The download page is still showing 8185. No sign of 8187 other than as a beta. I guess I will try that.

Installed 8187 with no change.

One of the burners is an external burner, so I doubt that the problem has anything to do with the fact that the computer is a Toshiba laptop.

Try turning off Autoplay for both optical drives. The Toshiba still handles the IO for the drives.

Also, in DVDFab Settings, go to Drives and set DVDFab to ignore the virtual drive that you have set up.

I assume you have turned off/exited/disabled whatever sheepware placed the Elby CDIO driver in your registry.

Still no joy

I set every autoplay option in control panel to "Take No Action." Then rebooted yet again because DVDFab still can't be stopped. When I re-started, DVDFab was able to see a disk in the on board DVD burner, but after yet another reboot, it no longer sees disks in that drive, either.

No, no slysoft programs running. I have nothing running other than DVDFab and a little program called, "stickies."

Is this a new/recent installation of DVDFab or have you been using it succesfully in the past on this PC?

Yes I got 8.1.3.2 last year I think, and it worked fine until I upgraded to 8.1.8.5. I got 8.1.3.2 from the old downloads page today and installed it with no luck.

I also did a system restore as far back as I could, also with no luck.
