        District 9

I used DVDFab 5.2.2.6 and no problems, everything went smooth as usual I got the whole disc saved in a folder, the only thing is that you must use DVDFab to reduce the size of the folder (use the dvd5 feature) because dvdshrink won't shrink it enough even if you disable a language. the result is a nice working back up.

Got my copy of "District 9" yesterday and for the first time ever could not backup a disc. DVDFab 6205 read it quickly but selected the wrong chapter for main movie only. Tried full disc but freezes on copying after 10 seconds.
In movie only mode it copies fine till the the final 5 - 7 seconds then hangs forever. Tried to do this about 5 times - finally my system went into PIO mode and had to reset DMA. Also tried with 6210 Beta. Same thing.
With Pathplayer disabled it cannot even read the disc.
          Anyone tried this movie.
This was with the paid version of 6.2.0.5.?

            District 9 (Region 4)

Have just watched the complete movie that I ripped using DVDFab 6.1.2.5. Had no problems at all. Selected Video 1, not the one that DVDFab selects.
It's not a bad Movie once you get through the first 1/2 Hour.
            Cheers Dave

              Success

I also was able to backup the movie using version 6.2.0.5 by choosing Video 1 with Pathplayer always enabled Region 1. I watched it completely with no problems....

Looks like someone been drinking the seaweed juice !!!! ...

Going from WS (1.85 or 2.35) to FF (full frame 1.33), highly unlikely. That would be like mixing WS and FF .vob's together and only if the disc had both WS and FF on the same side !!!!

Well guess I'll find out on Tues (12/22 ... R1) what's on this disc.

DVDFab 5.2.2.6 does work on the region 1 disc.
but version 6205 and 6215 does not work, tried all three settings.
ran through dvd shrink twice and now have a perfect back up.

                    No luck with District 9

I used 6.2.05 (11/11/2009) paid version. No luck backing up Full Disc DVD to DVD. It gets to near 3% copied and I get an "error while reading" message.

District 9 R1 fails (error while reading!) at 2.97% with Pathplayer always enabled and with Pathplayer disabled fails at 10.13% with version 6.2.1.5 beta paid version. Tried version 5.2.5 version and fails at 10.13%. I see Gary12 sent log info.

It sound like we are getting a "BAD PRESSING" here.

Please analyse disk using VSO Inspector and report results.

I used 6.2.05 (11/11/2009) paid version. DVDFAB will not fully complete the movie for me also. It stops at 99.80% complete. The timer keeps going put everything else seems to freeze. Hopefully somebody can figure out the solution to this.

Gonna be hard to figure out since we have MIXED results, other than "BAD PRESSING" that GregiBoy mentioned.

I had some issues trying a back up of this film,
                                using 6.2.1.5
tried with PP enable when necessary/ no luck
                                tried with Disable/ no luck
then tried with Always enable/ success
read in another post for those of you getting a rip to 99.80% to check ignore all and it can take up to a half hour to finish.
