Read Error, Patsy Cline: Sweet Dreams Still: The Anthology

I have an hour professionally pre-recorded disc that stops copying with a "Read Error" at the same spot each time. I have tried cleaning the disc, copying @ full disc and only main movie, but the problem continues.

Here's the interesting part....when I try to play it on my computer with InterVideo, I get a picture but absolutely no sound, but when I play it on my regular DVD player, it plays fine.

Any thoughts or solutions would be appreciated as I would like to copy this disc for my mother's assisted living facility friends.

    Thanks.

If there is no protection on the disc, you could try to copy it with Windows Explorer, if it stops - it could be a bad burn (if it's a burned copy).

Tried to play it in another software media player?

Copy in Windows Explorer? Why am I not familiar with that? Didn't know you could. Besides, I believe there must be a protection if I purchased this in a store back in 2005....wouldn't there be?

Click on the settings button and go to Info and see if there is any special protection on the disc.

Looks to me as a non protected disc, the last rows that talks about potential protection, I've seen any many discs that are not protected. Not sure why it's reported.

So what does that mean...if it's unprotected then I can try to copy with WE? And how do you do that?

Post the DVDFab internal log from the failed attempt. Is this disc one that you bought? Is the bottom of it silver/gold or blu-ish in color?

OK...I downloaded a free burner and since the disc appears unprotected, tried to copy to my hard-drive with the same results....at around 15% I hear the driver stop and I get an error message. I'm just going to abort this project, let them borrow my disc, and hope they don't lose, misplace, or damage it. <sigh>

                    Thanks, everyone, for your help.
