Can't activate on-line through the network.

Can't activate on-line through the network.
The network I must use to access internet does not allow acitivation on-line. is there any other way to register/activate version 9?

No. What kind of network are you using? Is it a firewalled or something? Those can usually be set to allow specific traffic to go through.

I don't control the Microsoft LAN at this location and they're not going to change it or its firewall or proxy server for my one program. Guess I won't be using dvdfab anymore.

        DVDFab9 Activation

So what your saying is you cannot use DVDFab 9 on a computer that is not connected to the internet?

At the present, that is correct.

Other software vendors that use on-line activation have methods for activating a license file on a different machine so you can use the product on a machine without internet access.

I thought DVDFab would employ something similar given it is relatively costly. But alas, such is not the case.

V8 is still being updated for new decryption for now, you can continue to use that.

A bit like being allowed in the back of the bus.

Is there no appreciable difference between 8 and 9? If there's no appreciable diff between 8 and 9, why does 9 even exist much less require on-line activation?

If your network need a proxy, you can set HTTP or SOCKS proxy in DVDFab settings.

Question? Does this mean that DVDFdb9 cannot be used if dvdfab.com is down?

Is it possible to tell me what information is being sent to DVDFab every time DVDFab9 logs on, or is being used?

                      No, not necessarily.

No, not specifically. But nothing like name or address or that identifies you personally. It's just used to verify that you have a legitimate license for the product.
