    Problem with Maxell DVDs

HI, I have always used Nexxtech DVD-R with DVDFab and never had a problem. Lately I tried a Maxell DVD +R 4.7 gb. My burner rejected it. It passed the "checking for writing capability" part, but when the writing itself began, the door opened. I took out the Maxell and put in a Nexxtech, and it worked fine.
I tried again on a different burn, and the same thing occurred. Is there a setting in DVD Fab to make it accept DVD + R? Because all the other times I use -R and it worked. i don't know what else it could be.
    Thank you.

    Hi CheapTom
Seems like your drive does not like these discs. try picking up some quality media like Verbatim with the AZO dye printed on the package label.
If you could please post your internal and burn log.
    Thanks

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

I happen to have some of these and burn them ok with ImgBurn with OPC turned on. If you want to try this let me know and we'll walk through setting you up. Even if it doesn't help you'll still have the best burning engine there is running seamlessly with DVDFab.

AZO is an organic dye that Verbatim uses that the laser marks very distinctly and doesn't fade over time. The reason cheap blanks won't play in a year.

Office Max anad BestBuy have them, if you have either of these nearby. Prices are higher than the online sources in most cases. BBuy puts them on sale several times a year.

You may be able to salvage those Maxell blanks with ImgBurn however.

I am having the same issue, but one time mine will say insert double layer, which I did not burn that way, then another time it won't detect the disc at all. I am using Memorex dvd +R. That's all I have ever used for YEARS. Now all of a sudden on two different computers, I'm having issues accepting the disc to burn.

Should my pathplayer be on or off?
