With decrypter you can't use the Fab burn program what burn program are you using? I recommend using img burn.Each software or external player has a button to play sub titles please confirm you know this and are using it to display subtitles that play all the time? The forced should play anyway they are the ones played when the native languish is not played.

Also please confirm this is a store brought disk not a ebay disk or one brought out of the back of a van or other fishy sale.
Is this a US disk?

Please answer my questions did you want forced subtitles or regular English subs to play through out the movie.?

I want you to download the newest Fab version 9123 and take the store brought disk and make a full disk or main movie show me a screen shot of the wolverine disks sub title pull down the subtitle list their should be 2 English sub titles in it.

Click on the first English sub title their should be a little arrow now to the left of the English sub title now that means this is your default subtitle.Post the internal log file if it don't work.Also download VLC player it's free and we will get to the bottom of this.

I did copy and burn another after you said to tick "always display forced captions" and that`s when i ran the disc on all the dvd software i mentioned and on the standalone dvd player and it didn`t show subtitles. I`ll do it again if you wish. I have been burning them on dvd+rw so i wouldn`t waste discs but i have tried on Taiyo Yuden permanent discs but with the same result.

Please let me know if you want only forced subs to play this is English subtitles play only when someone is talking non English or do you want the English subs to play through the whole movie?

What software player are you using? post your internal log file for the disk your having trouble with the sub titles.

When you use the store brought disk does it have subs when playing on computer with software player?

I tried the copy on Dvd Fab media player-Windows media player-Media player classic and on the tv standalone player and no subtitles. Yes the store disc shows subtitles clearly.
I hope i`ve got the right log for you.

What software player are you using? post your internal log file for the disk your having trouble with the sub titles include the internal log with the rip from the store brought disk to hard drive.

Is the software players sub title control set to on?

Start with the store brought disk make full disk or main movie don't use a iso or folder you already ripped to hard drive with the settings not set correct in Fab as if you made a mistake and didn't include the sub titles then you have to re rip the store brought disk to hard drive again.If you make full disk or iso all the subtitles will come with the copy as long as the settings in Fab are correct.

Well, i checked that and did the process again and played the dvd on my computer and the subtitles don`t show. I thought that might have been the answer. Any other suggestions please?

I`m still having trouble with getting subtitles. Is it because i am using Dvd Decrypter free never expires-activated, i am using it until i can afford to buy Dvd Fab. I seem to have the settings correct where on the right of the main page it shows "en en normal captions" and forced captions selected below in the dropdown. In common settings, streams, (see attached) English is ticked and other regarding subtitles is selected. I have been successful in getting subtitles in one instance.
Could you advise please?

If you clicked on the little delta symbol on the original disc and no subtitles dropped down I don't know unless the fact your version is expired has something to do with it?

I just went on your post and remembered that i use the "HD DECRYPTER" which never expires. Cheers

There's also more than one way but usually it's less complicated. I never had any problems with DVD subs though.

I have this happen all the time and still can't understand why rippers don't recognize the forced subs for foreign language bits and flag them as forced or default.
