I took it to mean that he was using a HDD copy from the original disc on which he did not include subtitles. It is an easy mistake to make, eespecially with the stream preferences set so that "none" are pre-selected (I have done it myself).

Sorry I used ripper as generic term - I meant DVD Copy. Preview, identify the correct sub, then in the drop down select it and click to the left to get the traingle to flag as default.

I didn`t mention using anything else but that. I intend using the original.
However, i`m more confused. Augerpro was talking about ripping. I`m still in the dark as how to get the subtitles.

Anyway here is what I do. If I know the movie has subtitles (or even if not), before I rip, play it in the preview window. Then by right clicking on the screen you can see what subtitle is selected (if any). Identify the correct one for your foreign language bits. There are probably several English subtitles available - they aren't numbered but just count from the top which one it is. Then go back to the ripper screen and hit the drop down for subtitles, find that sub, then click just to the left of it so the little blue triangle shows. This flags it as default and your player will now display it properly.
Thank You, Should i be using ripper instead of copy and in the drop down should i use forced or english normal captions?? I did play this one and right clicked but saw nothing about subtitles.

I believe i`m doing the right things with my settings, as i posted earlier, but not getting the subtitles.
