book type dvd-rom

I've been wanting to use the dl disc's in a regular dvd-rom player
(that does not read dl's)
So I thought if I put a check mark on
(book type dvd-rom for dvd+r/+rw) that would solve that problem
but the disc's still do not play in the dvd player on my computer
(does not even recognize the disc)
so I guess it is not setting the book type to dvd-rom
or the dvd player would recognize it like it does a factory made 8 gig disc

how can I get a dvd+r dl to be recognized as a dvd-rom

Keep the box checked DVD-ROM is always your best bet. Post your internal log something else is going on.

please update your dvdfab version to the latest version (9.2.1.5 or 9.2.1.6 beta)
the version you have is out of date.

did you try updating your dvd rom drive firmware ??

no version has ever worked so what good would it do to upgrade
especially when the new versions have no upgrade for this problem
9215 & 9216 are only for server connection problems and for the new meta option
as far as upgrading the firmware, why !!!!
if it reads factory made dl (8 gig) disc's then it should work for DvdFab made 8 gig dl disc's also, correct...
so that means they have to be set/marked as dvd-rom disc's
and I can not get DvdFab to set the disc's up as a dvd-rom disc
so my player will read them
The DvdFab made Dl disc's work fine in my super-multi dl dvd player
but not in the dvd-rom drive (but factory ones do)

what burning program do you use?? VSO burning engine or Imgburn
please try Imgburn it is highly recommended.
also what brand of blank DL discs do you use.

1) Update to v9.2.1.5 or 6 Beta
2) Set the burning engine to DVDFab Burning Engine or use ImgBurn standalone
3) Post a new log if it still does not work.

ImgBurn can set many drives to burn as DVD-ROM, but not all drives support this feature.

Can't help you further until you update.

Signals tells me to set it to DvdFab burning engine
but when you change it to ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
it removes the option to set book type to dvd-rom
